Without having access to one, it is hard to determine if these features are acceptable, compared to the Pa4X. With all of the threads on the wonders of the SX900, I see no mention of this.

Yes they are fine. Yamaha makes it a BIT clumsy to change the key on CDGs. Rather than use the Transpose feature, as Korg does, they make you touch a very small spot on the screen that says Pitch Shift, and do it that way.
Good news is that you can save the song, including the pitch shift, to a Registration.

Bernie, one of the things that people do is to see if the new keyboard can do what my old keyboard did – the important things. I did that with Kn7000 for a long time. When I bought the K Pa800 I found many things that the Kn7000 could not do. I had to relearn; the sound was much stronger on the Pa800.

As far as the Sx 900, I find to be better than the S975, and very much like, and much better than the Kn7000. So how does the Sx900 compare with the Pa4x? The same way that an orange compares with an apple.
My opinion: There areas where Yamaha does not compare with Korg, but what the Sx900 does offer is far more than what I lost. The Registration is very much like the Kn7000, and it offers more. Reg #1 can save everything Reg#2 can save just one item Reg #3 can save transposing – all with just pushing one button; not so on the Kn7000.

Drive over, I will give you a room where you will not be disturbed, and when you done, a bit to eat and off you go.
PS,Maybe we can get Ed to join us.

Take care my good old longtime friend, John C.

No jam session in the offing, merely a kind offer to audition his SX900.
