I have done this also. I did it with the lowly VA5/7/76 several times, but finally got sick of it.

Zuki I think I explained all that on Sx900 (1st) and Genos,
amongst all the others (2) Korg Pa4x, (2) EA7) (1) psr 970,670, BIAB, M-audio controller, confused2
just do a search here on SZ for all the details..

I'll pass on the research....enjoy

It does make a big difference, but so does a 10th of a second in an olympic race, or the length of a horses nose at Belmont. The speakers in the SX sound fantastic on their own, (I used them alone at the winery yesterday, and it was awesome) but for a little extra "ooomph" there's nothing like adding that big fat bottom.
In a studio, or home setting They are more than adequate, and actually quite lovely. It depends on what you're going for ... sound-wise. For home, with no dancers, and not a lot of real estate to cover - the bass response is well balanced, but if you need to move some air for dramatic effect, or you're playing lots of jazz bass tones, simply turning up the volume doesn't match the efficiency of nice beefy sub.
*** And, for all you New Yorkers ... I'm not talking about HOAGIES, either. smile

There might be more than one thread on this, but here is one that explains his original 3 1/2 hour experiment:

Donny, congrats on the KB, and Ive really enjoyed your feedback here.

I am also certainly going to give your settings a try, I've still been using the default settings, that may be because of where the SX is situated in my room that it doesn't need much tweaking.

I've found that with the S975 as well, it just sounds great out of the box. Not sure how long I will have the S975 for though since its a part exchange for the SD7 (which I've been told will be despatched on the 27th now)…

I've also been enjoying the Pa1000 recently as well, hasn't got much of a look in since I purchased it but I spent some quality time with it recently and its definitely another beautiful keyboard.

All the best Donny.

Rikki or anyone else try the EQ settings shown above yet?
would be interesting to hear your thoughts....
So far in MY room with both of these speakers
Onboard & Rokit monitors
I'm happy with the sound so far....
like I said haven't tried the RCF Jmix8 Pa yet
which I assume will require a third user setting.
I have not hooked a Mic into the Sx900 as of yet either
still working on restoring, replacing all info from Genos
into SX900 so I can continue setting it up.
Anyway I am past the previous 3hour mark with the 2nd Sx900
so I guess it is starting to grow on me now.

Hi Donny,
Haven had a chance to try them yet, I’m only getting short snippets of time to read messages here and there. Haven’t touched the keyboard in 3 or 4 days, except for a quick duet of silent night with the little grandson on his sax. God bless him, he brought his sax over on Xmas eve so we could play together. ( I thought he’d brought his little suitcase over and was staying the night haha, but it was his sax)

Merry Xmas Donny.
