Paul, I will not be a judge of your singing grin but I'll bet Dave sounds better on a $600 mic than he does on a $29 one ... wink
Of course, as would we all smile

I'm among the privileged individuals on the forum that had the opportunity to see and hear UD perform live at a couple locations. He is one Hell of a singer, utilized vocal control to its utmost, and while I'm confident he would sound good with a $29 mic, I know how wonderful he sounds using a high quality mic and PA system. You only get out of the system what you put in. Remember the old PC acronym, GIGO. It definitely applies to audio gear. smile

I'm honored, and humbled by all these kind word. Thanks you so much - and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
We had a blast last night ... I played clarinet, and banjo and sang my butt off for about 7.5 hours, including the 1 hr show I did at noon.
I'm wiped out now, but man, it was fun! I tried to do the math - I think this was my 45th NYE show .... wow - and I'm such a youngster. smile

Dave ... That's a great job by you ... Reminds me of my (much) younger days when we would start a NYE gig at 9pm and finish around 3 or 4am ... and wherever we were, our sax player had to get home before sunrise otherwise he would not be able to sleep the rest of the day ... grin

I haven't worked that hard in YEARS, but it was so much fun. I think the added clarity of the mic helped my stamina. I wasn't even vocally fatigued at 1am.
Then again, I don't scream, and I always have good monitors on every job.
Maybe YOU can't, but I sure can. There's lots of subtitles that lie in that upper range to 20k, and I can definitely tell when they're missing.
