If it WERE a keyboard then I'd guess it'd be back to Korg, the live player's go-to.

Donny, Sorry the 900 didn’t work out this time. I felt your experience with the Genos would make the 2nd go around succeed. Hope you figure out a path that gives you musical satisfaction.
Good luck,
Mitch

The sliders were nice on genos so was the larger display and great sound.....but same registration playlist and VH2..
they are not problems but rather a bad fit for my navigation..

It was obvious this change was coming with all the complaining about Yamaha's Playlist system.

Donny, when my untimely demise occurs, which the way things are going, will not be in the too distant future, my kids will be more than happy to sell you my fully-loaded S-950. Looks and performs as good as the day I bought it. smile I still play it at least once a week for a couple hours, so you'll have to wait till I kick the bucket. frown

Good luck on your next acquisition,

Gary cool

I agree that the SX900 isn't that great for making changes on the fly. With the S970, the mixer was on the home screen, and I knew exactly where each of those grey buttons were to fine tune the volume of the RH voices, mic, and style. Now, I have to hit a button that brings me to the touchscreen, and the mic volume slider is on the second page. Of course, there are Live control knobs and assignable buttons. The bottom line is that you have to get everything right in your registrations to avoid being confused during the performance.

Thank you Mitch for the sentiment. We all operate differently,..each one of us does it in a way that comforts our playing style and thought process. What is perfect for someone is totally useless to the next person in every way shape or form. At this point gonna stand back and reassess what I would like to do moving forward.

Take care
