Admittedly, I'm an old traditionalist, so while these designs are interesting, to ME there is nothing like the look of a classic grand piano ...

Yeah, but Tony you gotta' admit, if you lived in a 10 million dollar Frank Lloyd Wright mid-century modern, it would look pretty cool.

yeah....me too. Forgot the "look"..I'd have trouble just playing it. Too radical and distracting for a prof pianist. Score one for "traditionalism!"

Youtube man said "the sound doesn't have to come from strings." Sorry, but if you want the gracefulness of the string sound from the piano, well....it DOES have to come from strings. Doesn't matter really because the next generation will not even know "stringed" pianos ever even existed. That's how fast technology and how we listen to music is rapidly changing. Evidenced by the "space ship pianos" noted above.
