Yamaha has the fm engine which I like a lot. I don’t know much about the fantom as I am not really interested in a Roland. Yamaha and Korg sound more pleasant to my ears.

Well with these worstations in genera is all about making your own sounds/music in any way you desire...workflow on the Fantom is amazingly easier then previous to creat music.
I know they are all great for music production but personally I will go for the montage because I like that sound the most. But I am dreaming because I never can afford one of these 4

The Kronos has an equal FM engine... its also 8op.. even more versatile (mod7) The Kronos also has other engines that outshine the montage.. However, the montage is much easier to opperate..and is a dsp powerhouse..
Roland is on a homerun with the Fantom.. But only reached first base so far, but looks like the ball might make it over the wall

I choose Kurzweil. I had a couple and I love the sounds....But, If I was to try all of them today...who knows.....I sold mine because they were more for a stage musician in a band...not a one man band performance, as we have discussed....
As far as I know has Medeli no workstation but who knows in the future. However they do have a very interesting new arranger I am still interested in the akx10.
hey Fran i was joking . at the end its a matter of taste becouse all the four sounds very good , but each has its own direction / in the past i prefered roland and i owned the rd 700gx, now i prefer the montage , also the nord sound very warm and autentic but too dark for me ,kronos also good , but i prefer the yamaha.
Hmm don’t underestimate Medeli look at this ASM synth made by Medeli.
Thats in my book one of the most refreshing high quallity synths.. It comes with poly aftertouch and a huge touchstrip. The synth engine is refreshing.. And the interface just makes sense..
I think its wise from Medelli to use a different name for a synth that was created be a few top designers wellknown in the buiseness..

I think if Casio launched the mz x500 under a different name with better keys it would be a huge success. I personally liked it a lot but the keys on it were terrible. Personally I don’t care about the brand name as long as it sound and play good. I had a Medeli a800 once and the keys were very good. Actually that was the only thing I liked about that keyboard. But we are about 8 years further so I will give Medeli another chance with the AKX10. If I don’t like it I can always send it back

They should have launched it as the replacement for the px-5s... A true stage piano workstation...
