So the difference you feel, might have todo with the keys you play on?

Anyway, i enjoyed your recording, and sounded quite realistic to me..

Thanks Bachus. You may be right but the C1 is not transmitting any velocity messages and the key feel is very similar to the KeyB. It's probably the speakers because it does sound better on the recording than 'live'. Also, there may be some subtle differences in the way I've configured the two; I've never bothered to hook them up side by side (just lazy smile ). Also, I've never heard a side-by-side sound comparison of the EXP vs the the console models (Legend and Legend Live). If they all have the same sound engine, then they sure packed a lot of electronic circuitry into that small module. Guess I'll have to believe them until I hear the comparison (live) for myself.

BTW, you replaced (with the Montage) the only board I ever wanted and didn't buy, the Kronos. Are you satisfied with the replacement? How would you characterize the differences between the two. Was it because the Kronos was getting a little 'long in the tooth' (older technology)? I got the Fantom G at the time and always regretted it. I've started to re-visit the Fantom but never really liked the sound set.

Wow Chas! Super kickin' on that organ! I soooooo love the B3 jazz stuff and man you nailed it! Definitely post more - one of my all time regrets has been that I grew up just a tad too late to be able to work the lounges with a swingin' B3 trio. Encore please!

I love Alan McPike, always admired his flawless pedal work and excellent taste.

Next to Jazz organists (B3 only), I love to listen to (and watch) Gospel organists. Talk about creative smile smile.

and the inimitable Cory Henry (Snarky Puppy)

Also, the SKX is a nice board but not for me. As you can see from my purchasing history, I'm 'dedicated clonewheel' all the way. If you do get a SKX, make sure you get a good quality Expression pedal and a 'Leslie' switch.

Thanks Rikki. We DO love those old tunes smile.

Tony, thanks and kudos to you. Looks like you've figured out what retirement SHOULD be about. I'm betting there are a few more exciting adventures left on your journey. Now THAT'S the way to spend the kids inheritance smile.
