Regarding Panel Memory - Tempo saving, is it possible to save only rhythm and tempo speed in bank # 1, while saving only voices on bank # 2?

Hmmm, when you save "P"anel "M"emory your saving all settings, regardless. You can use the panel memory filters to some degree on what you want to accomplish but it has limitations. Turning the tempo off, the tempo will be the same in each panel memory.

If you want to change the tempo from PM1 to PM2 but keep the same voices...
EX: If PM1 tempo is set at 95 with R1 Grand Piano, set P2 at a different tempo say 120, and keep Piano in R1. Which is what I think Technics intended in these situations.

Doron, leave the Tempo setting on, and simply switch to Expand mode to save different Tempo settings in Panel Memory. It doesn't matter if the Tempo setting is on or off when you are in Normal mode, because the setting will change to the last Tempo setting saved.

When in Expand mode, the tempo and voice settings will be saved to that particular Panel Memory location (1-8). That means you can have the same voice in R1/R2 but maybe only play one voice (R1) in PM1, and both voices in PM2, but with different Tempo's with different Variation locations (1-4), and even throw in Technichord if you so desire. It makes recording easier because you can use the foot switch to move through the Panel Memory positions and keep your eyes on the music and your fingers on the keyboard. Expand mode can be your friend under certain circumstances. Happy Holidays!

Hi All,

Now days the way I operate is as follows:

Say I want polka with speed 120:
1. I set the speed to 120 manually before playing the song

2. Start to play the song with memory 1-1

2. As I play increasing the speed to 135

3. Move to memory location 1-2 (the speed 135 say without change)

This is what I want to achieve.

Saving ONLY the starting tempo speed and voices in the 1-1. When moving to other memory location I want the speed to remain as is on the screen without being changed.

press and hold the panel memory set button, go to page 2, set tempo to off. You can change to any panel memory and the screen tempo will not change.

Can I set the Tempo to "On" for memory location 1-1 and set Tempo to "OFF" for memory location 1-2?

no, logically you can't save a setting which changes the setting you are saving within that setting, you can only save a higher level function which controls that setting. You can change the filter settings (the tempo on/off) by selectively loading just the current panel file without affecting the panel memories or having to load them again. Or just forget filters and save the wanted tempos in each panel memory.

load, page 2, current panel and panel memory are separate items. Current panel loads one setup direct (including the panel memory filter settings), panel memory only loads a setup when you press a corresponding bank/number button - defined by the filters.
