Zuki, When I got my Sx900 a master song like the Korg has, is the first thing I looked for. Don and s few others said I would be better off making my own. I had all the styles I wanted, so it was matching time.

Every time I used a master song list, I would delete the original song and add my own. Did the same with my Kn7000. I want the song list to be me – and it is always ready to be changed.

Again Zuki, these are only my suggestions, they are based on the my view of the whole picture – getting to know my new keyboard.

1-I enjoy going through my styles to find a style that fits the song.

2-It took a good bit of my time at the beginning, but I was getting familiar with the styles. I can now add 15 new songs with a matching style in 30 minutes.

3-I started with the preset styles in the keyboard. If I could not find a style that matched, I went to the styles that my friends sent me. (keep in mind that a song lists do not include these styles)

Zuke, #1 keep enjoying and having fun no matter what direction you are going. I smile each time I pass my new keyboard, it is helping me to love the life I am living.

Take care, John C.

I don't get it??....why would anyone need someone else's song list?..
create your own with your own styles and arrangements etc..
first thing I always do I DELETE the suggested song list and start out
with a blank canvas setting up the keyboard......
most times the suggested songs are not my cup of tea...
yes some of the sound combinations work nicely & can give you ideas for your OTS, etc,
but that's it, they can always be saved and inserted into any style in your user section.
just my take on song lists

What is the advantage of using Song List over Registration List?

Larry, I’m assuming when you say “song list” you are referring to playlist? A playlist is simply a collection of registrations. From my point of view one of the advantages of playlist is unlike registrations in a folder you can order the playlist in any order i.e. not alphabetized.

Zuki...what we are talking about is the Yamaha Playlist....there is no more Music Finder....it is the list of songs and each entry points to a registration bank which is for that song.

C'mon, I don't want to copy someone's list, but there are great templates (Copacabana, Wonderful World, etc -that I remember) as a starting point, to then customize from there. What's wrong with that? I am trying to speed up the process and was always able to grab some great ideas from this feature.

Yes, most are unusable, but I don't use midi files, so any style suggestion is always appreciated.

So back to my original question: Is there a list of song templates, like in earlier boards and like the Korg Songbook?

The SX900 will take an MFD aka Music Finder file and convert it to a playlist. When I find the link I’ll post it. Below is a link for some playlist files, to download them you’ll need to scroll to the bottom of the page.

https://usa.yamaha.com/products/musical_.../downloads.html

Hi Zuki

The first of the 3 links I sent earlier

https://usa.yamaha.com/products/musical_...ml#product-tabs

The bonus playlist for sx900.towards bottom of page.

It has the song name and the registration ( ie style, sounds etc) for that song.

I have mine saved to a USB stick and use it from there.
The songs are saved in categories matching the styles that they use.
