Thank you all for the many kind PM's I have received
from all over the world it is deeply appreciated.
I tried to answer as many as I could.
I'm loving my Tyros 4G HYBRID wink
Besides the 500 great styles already in Tyros 4,
I have incorporated all of the Genos converted styles to work with the Tyros4 which now becomes a "Tyros 4G HYBRID"
and let me say it sounds amazing!
I got a great deal on it & I could just not pass up it is MINT...
and was cheaper then a SX900!....The keybed, tilt display, sliders,
quality sound engine, SA2, VH2,(which I will have to dig deep and heavily edit it to my liking) it's all good and a real comfort to play. This could be the one for me.. When Tyros5 & Genos came out I remember reading a few posts that a few Tyros4 owners that switched to T5/Genos wish they didn't for many reasons they just loved the T4. That always stuck in my head thru-out my switching KB scenarios.
I said to my self one of these days I am gonna get a T4
and when the opportunity arose I jumped on it,
and I am glad I did. Already having a Genos for a short while
the one thing I grew fond of was the "continuity of the style variations"
and the way they "stay in the same family" unlike many arranger keyboard styles which when you change variations sometimes it loses the groove as your progress thru them so to speak
especially on Big Band/Jazz styles, etc,...
I've only had the Tyros4G HYBRID a few days and will take my time setting it up to make it a true Tyros4G HYBRID.
Don't get me wrong I will still use many of my custom Yamaha styles, third party styles, T4, T5, S-series styles, etc,
along with many of the Genos styles also.
Anyway that's it for now I have to get back to my
Tyros4G HYBRID...
Man these Genos Converted styles sound terriffic cool2
Until the next time we talk stay well, or PM me..

Take care

I had the T4 for quite a while and did many gigs with it.
Great KB even today. Loved playing it. smile
Skipped the T5. Didn't like it. The few audio styles where not enough.
Have fun

Good luck Donny, hope it's gonna keep you busy for a while.
It's a great keyboard, had a T4 myself before got the G. 🎵🎹🎵

Btw, Tyros 4G, what's the G about? 🤔

Donny,

Best of luck with the T4, I had one and really liked it I would have kept it except T5 had 76 keys that’s about the only reason I upgraded to the T5.

Donny glad you are back. And yes, it’s so nice to know you have missed. I feel the best keyboard for the home player is Yamaha.

No what, it feels good to have you back.

Good to hear from you. I guess your off the full 88 weighted keyboard and back to a 61 synth. Whatever, enjoy it and keep making music.

That explains it. To paraphrase an Ian McNll term from long ago, this is some sort of Frankenboard. Ian used to call his edited styles frankenstyles, IIRC.

My G70 styles reside in my Prelude... does that make my Prelude a baby G smile

It also has in common 6 fills, and D-beam... and neither of them is made in China grin

Randy, the songs you pick, your chord sequencing, and your improvising, we must have gone to the same school. Not comparing talent, just taste and thinking.
Randy, you’re a talent, post more songs.

Bernie, Steve, John, and Rikki - thanks so much for the listen and the kind words! That was a long 9 years ago when my T4 was the main board. Kinda wish it was still here. Donny made a good choice and got a great deal. As we all know, so many arrangers (even the ones from a few years back) still have plenty to offer and they can sure be a joy to play. I still marvel that I got through the whole thing without too many "Clams" but it was (as they all are) a fun project when it involves making music.

Thanks again for the listens and glad you enjoyed my rendition of this great song!

Nice work Randy, but I'm still a big fan of your Sax work. How about throwing a little live sax on top of that very nice sounding SX900.

Hi Randy,
personally never had a T series. Interesting how some people seem to have preferred their T 4 over the T 5.

Anyway, you sounded great, no doubt Donny will get the best out of his , also.

I was not happy with the sound of the Yamaha Tyros MS 3pc
MS speaker system,....
My T2 and KRK Rokit5 studio monitors really sounded great, but sadly it was sold as a package deal weeks ago. Now with the T4G I have just added and stepped up to using two
KRK Rokit6 Studio monitors and WOW what a super sound in Stereo.

Thanks again Rikki! I had the T2 and T4 as I recall. They sure are great as long as you don't have to transport them too much. Did play a few gigs with them but never looked forward to hauling either of them out of the house.

Never met a Yammie (or Korg) I didn't love! smile Just sayin'!

PS - How's that old song go? You know... "To All the 'Boards I've Loved Before..."? (Cue Don Mason)… Shucks - I'll even start w/the lyrics..

To all the 'boards I've Loved Before
The FEDEX men seen at my door
I'm glad they came along
I dedicate this song
To all the 'boards I've loved before

To all the 'boards I played all night
Even the few that weren't quite right
Although I've had my fill
I want more even still
To all the 'boards I've loved before....

Maybe you should add lyricist to your saxophonist and keyboard man to your resume. Got a real chuckle out of your lyrics! Cool!

I owned T2 for 12 years, great board but poor screen with pale boarder down left side. Yamaha replaced screen but new screen no better.
Funny nobody mentions the T2 screen problem.

My T5-76 screen is excellent.

Thanks Chas! I will plan to do a "duo" with the sax and SX900 in the very near future. Have to straighten my music shack up a bit and then I will start prepping for another video. Should be fun!

With the Corona stuff going on, looks like the time will be well spent inside the house for sure.

Haha Zuki,
I can relate to that. ( not the shooting biz of course)
I had a couple of keyboards stashed under a bed.
Hubby didn’t know about THOSE TWO, till we moved house, when all of a sudden my collection grew to half a dozen or so. Haha
