I would investigate investing in AJ's Solid State Drive with his package loaded. Things seem to load faster with it, as I recall. You could ask him about it.
Rikki, Haven't seen the manual of the SD60 yet - still learning the SD7. From whta I hear on line - there is not a significant difference in sound to lean me towards upgrading, but if the loading delay issues were addressed - I might change my mind. I understand that the styles are loading real audio samples, and that take a lot of processing power, so it may just be something to live with if you want that sound. The pedal and TV connections are a minor concern, and if the delay hasn't gone away - I'll probably stop thinking about it. The load time is the only thing that really makes a difference to me.
Is there some way of telling whether the processor has improved? I remember back from my sd1 days, the manuals were pretty bad, not a lot of info, not to say they haven’t improved. Sounds like you need to find someone who’s had both,or better still someone who has both.
Are you talking milliseconds to load or seconds?
Not sure if there is a Ketron forum other than here?
Have you been in touch with AJ?
Have you checked the weight difference!! Unless not an issue. No more shots at Fran’s G70. Haha

1) delay when loading styles >>>AJ:- The SD9/60/90 load styles instantly thanks in part due to the dual processor found in these units (similar idea to what's found in the Audya series). So, despite the fact that these units have a bigger task of loading audio wave samples associated with their styles, there is NO HOUR GLASS in contrast to that displayed when the SD7 loads it's resources.
2) antiquated pedal, and monitor/TV/connections (much prefer 1/4 pedal and HDMI >>>AJ:- Same hardware accessories and connections on the back as SD7. Please find attached to this email a document we released earlier on detailing and explaining the differences between the current KETRON products. If someone can make this open/display here as a page, without folks having to download, that will be great.
The SD60 seems to be in the same case as the SD7 - is the weight the same? Speakers the same? Power, etc? Too much time on my hands .... so many questions.

Dave, I can tell you one of the main reason that I got SD9 after I bought the Sd7 was because of the delay when loading styles, especially when during live, it’s not too bad, but it’s bugging me, other than that I think I could be happy doing live gig with Sd7, not really sure about your other question 🤓
OK, I've read the specs, listened to the demo's, talked with owners and ...
Dave, with all due respect, this (video) may be 'INSTANT' but it sure ain't 'FUNK'. Am I a connoisseur of funk? Well, yes...pretty much. This is sanitized Bulls..t pretending to be something it's not. The truth is, you're unlikely to get real, honest-to-g.d funk out of an arranger (style). A few exceptional musicians like Marco Parisi can do it because of what they are able to add to a basic beat, which is to add their own innate sense of rhythm and syncopation; something a machine can't capture. You want to hear REAL funk, listen to some James Brown or George Clinton or Bootsy Barnes or the Funk Brothers or even Tower of Power. Sorry Bro, you can't fake the funk .
