For those in the path of this impending superstorm (I'm one of them), I am truly hoping for your safety, and urge you to prepare as best you can for what looks to be a horrific storm system moving through the South and Northeast. I'm concerned about prolonged power outages since a lot of us have stocked our freezers in preparation for the long virus-imposed shut-in. High winds and tornadic activity seem to be the main threats so you should prepare accordingly. Good luck and take no unnecessary risks.

Thanks Chas! You're right - Lord knows we would be extremely hard-pressed to deal with power outages in this mess! The food preparers, markets, and homebound all need to rely on electricity to get through this. The hospitals may have backup power to sustain them but the general population would be in dire straits!

Hunker down and Godspeed Chas and all who (me included) may be impacted by this approaching weather!

It came through here a couple hours ago. Lots of damage in the area, but we were spared at our house. As I mentioned on another thread, it is 21 years ago today that a similar tornado destroyed our neighborhood. We were lucky then too. House on both sides destroyed but we only had comparatively minor damage. Still around 60,000 to fix everything though.
We may have more storms later today.
Everyone be safe!
