Thanks Tony! Excellent "down home" rendition of this song! Nice playing and singing - thanks for sharing an uplifting melody during this difficult time for all!l

Love this song! Thanks for sharing. I just did a quick search on my music folder and found versions by Ray Charles, George Jones, Aretha Franklin, Lee Ann Rimes, Randy Travis, Braveheart (bagpipes!), Floyd Kramer and Elvis. None by me for some reason, so I'll spare you that.

When my wife and I were in Israel this past January we were on a boat on the Sea of Galilee ... They played Lee Ann's recording ... it was SO beautiful ... Would not mind hearing your version, Don ...

T Thanx for sharing....
Don,.. would love to hear YOUR version for sure also..
Very good version, the harmonies on the your voice sound nice too. Funny, just this morning a nurse sung Amazing Grace on Good Morning America, and I thought I should really learn it too, so I’m taken your version as another sign that I need to learn Amazing Grace!
OK, now this is getting wired, Andrea Bocelli is singing it right now on the Spanish language Univision network ! How many more signs do I need?

Years ago I was playing in a casino in Shreveport and a guy came up and requested Amazing Grace. I told him I didn't think it was appropriate, and he handed me a hundred dollar bill and asked "Are you sure?" Guess what the next song was? And it got a standing ovation.

Paul, first, thank you for the kind words, much appreciated ... Second, yes, you OBVIOUSLY should learn it ... I believe Boccelli ended his Milan concert with it yesterday.
Don, money talks, and I am not surprised at the standing O ...

Usually, late at night at Ernest's, I do a gospel song or two, mainly because Ernest loves 'em. My favorites include Peace In The Valley, Why Me Lord, and In The Garden. Last fall I started I Saw The Light and people started dancing toward the end, so I transitioned into Saints Go Marching In, and then into Uncloudy Day and ended with I'll Fly Away. Wish I had recorded it because it worked out pretty well.
