Chas - I am on Social Security and have not heard a peep. The wife and I should be receiving the $$$ but so far, NADA. I went to the IRS website and tried to inquire and got an error "We were unable to locate any information for you". Go figure.
For folks who have not seen anything, I heard on the radio this morning that if, by chance, you don't receive the funds, on next year's taxes, you "should" be able to claim the credit which would then reduce that amount from your taxes.
And the beat goes on.....

Bernie, I know this is just a typo ("takes" for "taxes") but what a classic Freudian Slip smile smile.
chas
Chas, you are right, Ha. One has to watch those subliminal thoughts while typing.

Just got my bank statement, balanced my checkbook and no stimulus check in the statement - just the usual stuff. And, I filed my taxes in February this year, probably the earliest I ever filed in my entire life. Maybe I just don't qualify. Gary

Read the instructions for the GetMyPayment tool. At the top of the list it says, if you are on Soc Sec, do not use the tool. An IRS agent that WGN Radio (Chicago) has interviewed several times says that if you are on Soc Sec, the tool will not work for you. It will always return the "no info" response, because Soc Sec recipients are in an entirely different database, all their own, and the GetMyPayment tool does not have access to that database for security reasons. They don't want Soc Sec recipients trying to access something that will not help them, because the thing is already overloaded enough the way it is. He also said that if you get your Soc Sec payment via direct deposit, you will get your stimulus payment the same way. The last time I heard him, he was guessing about mid-May for most Soc Sec recipients, but I think a few folks on Soc Sec have already got theirs, but they may still be working and receiving a regular income, in addition to Soc Sec.
