Tornado didn't hit us. Winds about 80 mph. Hail a little bigger than golf balls. Probably damaged the cars and roof. Won't know until tomorrow. Part of fence blew down AGAIN. A mile north they had baseball size hail.

Don, you have been given many challenges, I have never seen hailstones that size, and the lightening looked threating, it certainly can humble a man. My prayers are with you and your family., may you find the strength that you need. A prayer for safety and strength, John C.

Yes, I'm sure they are too big, but it was midnight and I was tired out by then. My beloved '06 Scion sustained a lot of hail damage. It's not worth much on paper, but it has been a great vehicle for 14 years. The Escape has just the broken windshield and the Expedition evidently was too tough for those little bitty hail stones. The skylight over our living room was broken. Not leaking, at least yet, but will have to be replaced. Not much else hurt that I can see. Thanks for prayers and good thoughts. It was scary for a while.

I was wrong, the Expedition has several dents, but not as bad as the other two. It was facing the other direction so the windshield was spared. I had a heavy tarp over my boat and it is almost totally shredded, but no damage to the boat.

Don, about 5 years ago, the same size hail hit here, piled up about 4 inches on the lawn, put 135 dents in the Grand Caravan and shattered the back window. Took it to the body shop owned by a friend, he had an expert in this kind of damage working for him and after a couple days, called me and some come get your car. Not a single dent remained an the back window had been replaced. The body tech actually used a special, custom made tool with which he actually rubbed the dents out from the inside, didn't loose a speck of paint and the entire bill was covered by insurance. He said sheet metal has a memory and if you have the patience and knowledge, you can restore the shape very easy using the right tool. I was amazed.
Here's a video of how it's done:
Good luck,
Gary
