I used to have a Zoom, gave it to my grandson when I purchased a Go Pro Hero, which I used for a quick and dirty video. If I were seriously thinking of doing more vids, I would likely purchase a Go Pro Hero 8 black - it does pretty much everything and seems to be very user friendly.

As far as I can see, the GoPros are great for what they were designed--action videos.
I maintain that if you are recording audio and video, and want to do it in all at once, you need line inputs to get the best sound. I don't see where they have these inputs.
Our keyboards output studio-quality sound and it's a shame not to capture that when doing videos. Also, you won't have to worry about picking up peripheral sounds and noise. You will only record what is sent from your keyboard and what is picked up by your vocal mic.

The Go Pro Hero 8 has an audio/mic input and you can also connect a USB mic adapter available from Go Pro. So, no problem taking the output from your mixer to the Go Pro. At least, none that I could find.

I recorded this with a standard Go Pro Hero, the inexpensive model with no frills, using the onboard shotgun mic and placing it on top of my console next to the netbook PC. It just picked up the sound from the keyboard speakers - no edits at all.

You are correct, Gary. I have the Hero 8 Black and all the accesories. Don is also correct in the sense that it is best as what it was designed for, action videos. Although it does a lot of things well, if 'action videos' were not going to be part of it's duties, it would not be my first choice. There are cheaper and better choices for amateur music videos. My take.

It's good to see and hear you. But the picture is distorted, like a fishbowl, and the audio is missing high end and the vocal is a little distorted at times, at least to my aging ears.
If the high end model has line input, I couldn't find it in the specs. But you would expect it for $300.

BTW Gary, you can eliminate that 'fisheye' effect on the Hero 8 by choosing 'Linear' instead of 'wide'. You can also get rid of it in post.

Don, you need the Media Mod (79.00) for the mic input, plus an external mic = although the Media Mod is equipped with a built-in mic that is slightly better than the one on the base unit.

For the very little video I do, I love my antique Kodak. smile Just set it on tripod, plug in audio feed, hit the Record button on the camera or the remote control and shoot yourself!
