Lock down....

Not only am I use to it , it isn't much different then before smile

I haven't had to go to a funeral, wedding or graduation, and no one expects me to show up anywhere. grin

The bad side, yes I know, the economy.. I really feel for the many waitress friends I have, and for the businesses that will not recover.

I lost the music market I was involved with, senior gigs... and I don't see a recovery there.. They will use alternative things to entertain folks..

I pretty much am not concerned about finances, (the life of a gigalo)... just kidding smile

I believe that as soon a vaccine or effective treatment is available, things will return to "normal" pretty quickly. People will still want to dine out, go to concerts, movie theaters, take cruises, etc. And AD's will start looking for "live" entertainment again.

Recorded music has been an option for almost 100 years. The fact that AD's, restaurant managers, etc., hired y'all in the first place shows that they-- and their guests-- prefer live entertainment. Or as live as it can be with an arranger ;-P

One inspiration, one breakthrough within the scientific or medical community. That's all it will take. Be careful, for now. But don't give up hope!

I agree!!
I can get use to this.

No pressure to be anywhere at a certain time. A life of leisure. I am in control of what I want to do.

More time to excercise.
Walk to anything within a mile radius instead of using the car.
Eating healthier at home.
Credit card statements have never been this low. No restaurant charges, no shopping charges. No gas station charges, no car repairs etc.

One positive I've seen around our neighborhood is parents, instead of pawning the kids off on some 'coach' at the 'whatever organized sports venue', are interacting with their kids more - walking, riding bikes, playing basketball in the driveway, etc.
I look at that as a definite plus ...

There is no bright side of this, nasty, insidious, horrendous disease - none, other than it will soon be gone, and with any kind of luck the nation will resume some semblance of normality. All those jobs will likely return, but it will take a lot of time before the NH/senior circuit resumes with indoor, live entertainment. I still keep in touch with several of the ADs and they tell me that they still have not resumed normal visitation, even at the facilities that had NO corona-virus cases or deaths. They are going to be super cautious until they get an all clear from the local health officials and the governor's office on aging.

Since I am fully retired, the covid-19 restrictions had absolutely no effect on my income status whatsoever, other than the stimulus check that came by mail. The money goes into my checking account every month from my retirement plans, and a third of it comes out for the essentials, Wagu Kobe fillet mignon, Jim Bean Honey Bourbon, and home upkeep and maintenance. Unfortunately, this leads to being lazy, and my health problems pretty much eliminated most of my exercise activities. Consequently, between the lack of exercise and some of the medications I consume, my waistline is larger than it has ever been in my life. Damned, I hate diets, but I'm gonna have to do something to get rid of the damned beach-ball that makes it hard to see my toes. wink

Good luck, guys and gals,

Gary cool

Lock down seems to have changed in pull down here in europe..
Radicall organisation use the floyd case to pull down all statures here that remeber of our “ white” history..
Strange how they dont realise that a country where only white people lived till ww1 has a white history?

Hope this doesnt turn in a hot summer ending in civil wars.
