Hi,
Actually nothing, sx has been sitting.

Went off on a piano tangent, Moved the piano into a different room, and it was my total focus. Learnt a heap of stuff about chords, progressions etc

Yesterday moved piano back next to my sx, midied them up again.
Now I’m going to try and put the knowledge I gained into my keyboard /piano combination.

Yes Donny I hate playing outside in the heat and humidity but I won't play unless there's coverage for us. One was at a new Cafe for Grand Opening. They said they would have a tent. Showed up and theres a small stage under an short overhang which almost covered us. There was a pop up tent propped up against the wall if we wanted to set ite up. We went on and 2 hours. later here come the clouds. Told them we're outta here, too risky and they agreed.
The gigs here in my community have been under the large pool pavilion, full coverage with ceiling fans. Yesterday went and set up, Saw the clouds coming in, started raining lightly, played Rainy Night in Bluffton (Georgia), went into Every Day I Have the Blues, and ba-boom, the sky explodes. Lightning, moonsoon rains and wind. Stopped playing and though we're OK, Wrong ! The water started flooding the pavilion floor, Packed up and everything was wet from the wind blown rain and flooded floor, Got home Its all spread out in my garage now. What we do for fame ! Sax player has a video setup and we will do a vid in the future.

Bill I hear you I excluded any outdoor gigs a long time
ago for many reasons. I lost a few keyboards, PA systems, bugs in the keys, humidity, and other gear destroyed too doing outside events it is an absolute nightmare for a live performer especially poolside where so many accidents can happen. Being on an outside raised stage or amphitheater is a different story for a big show with a
seated audience concert style. Set your priorities and just say no.

good luck

Sold them grin

Liquidation, I only want/ need one. smile

As for playing outdoors.. How can anyone possibly play the Jersey shore without playing outdoors?

Every venue except Wildwood convention hall that we played to more than 1,000 people, was an outdoor event.

I managed to stay busy at the shore for over 20 years ... INSIDE. To be fair, I started out playing the deck, but that got old fast.

When I performed in the Florida Keys, it was mainly outside. However, I took precautions to protect my gear from moisture, covered the top of the amp, console and all of the keyboard other than the keys with Saran Wrap. Worked for me, and worked very well. Most of those jobs were during the evening, and the humidity down there can get pretty high right after sundown. The neat thing was that audiences never noticed the Saran Wrap and the gear stayed perfectly dry.

Many of the venues supplied a tent, one that was completely waterproof, and made of rubberized canvas. The tents were about 12 X 12 feet and 8 feet high. The pitcher on my console atop my keyboard is for tips- the beer is sitting on a table to my left and a customer just brought it over to me and sat it down and thanked me for playing a song he requested. One customer came up and asked if I was worried that my Bob The Flame would set the tent on fire. I laughed and placed my hand in the artificial flame. It was a neat device and Don Mason now owns it. smile

Good luck,

Gary cool

It saddens me to hear people are losing interest in their
music and inspiration to play create and perform any more... frown
