So I was looking around for a setup that would allow a hookup, where I could connect to the mic in, and the headphone jack out with an "all in one" headset/mic.

I have found the Yamaha CM500 Headset Mic on Amazon that has two 1/8" cable jacks, and i assume one cable connects to mic in and the other to the headphones out. Not sure if this will work on the SX900, or any other keyboard for that matter. Anyone use this particular headset, or have a similar set up with a recommendation?

Thanks

Larry, not a great idea --- one breaks down, the other is useless. The S900 has ¼ “ jacks imputes. My thought; buy one good mic first.

Good point John. Just looking for a headset that will do both, eliminating a boom mic stand.

If it’s for recording, that mic is seriously sub-par. If it’s for playing live, why do you want closed back headphones?

And headset mics need either a VERY good compressor, or very good vocal technique, as you can’t ’work’ the mic, move in and out as you get louder and quieter depending on range.

Good points. I was just checking options, and have come to the conclusion, this particular Yamaha setup may not be ideal. But I do know there are performers who use a headset (one earpiece, slim mic) for performing live.

Larry, FOR ME, I need to move to and from the mic for expression.

Sometimes there is a high note, and have to give it more. And sometimes I need to get sexy, not too often (Smile) low volume.

Enjoy it all Larry, John C.

Glenn, Gary used a headset mic, he raved about it. I'm sure he has all the info you are looking for.
