If you own a DGX 670, you owe it to yourself to try out Adaptive and Simple styles. Together with AI full keyboard, it’s like playing with a bass/drums combo that changes the dynamics as you play.

For the first time in owning an arranger, I’ve been able to play a bass line with my left hand and chords with my right then change and chord with my left hand while playing melody with my right.

All the while the DGX is automatically changing up style versions A-D to fit the dynamics of the song.

Amazing to me and fun.

I’m guessing this is possible with my Genos, but I’ve never figured out how to do this with the Genos.

For $799, the DGX 670 seems, to me, light years ahead of the competition.

Any examples? I’d love hear that!

There are several ways to do this on Genos
The easiest is with the assignable Knobs.
Push the direct access button and turn any knob.
You'll see a list of parameters that are assigned.
If you turn Style Mute A it will strip down the Style one by one until you have just the base and rhythm.
Turn it the other way and you got the full band.
Style Mute B turns base and rhythm off first.
Try it and have fun.
Eric

Sadly, there are only a few Adaptive styles in the DGX. AFAIK these tricks can’t be applied to the rest of the styles. And the Genos can’t do ANY of this. The whole point is, you don’t have to move ANY knobs sliders and buttons. It just figures it out from what you are playing…

Thx all. I haven’t tried to do this on my Genos but will in the future.

Glad You are enjoying Your DGX keyboard. How is the keyboard action compared to your RD-2000 Roland. I know the Grand Piano in the DGX670 is stellar, wished My Genos had it! A lighter hammer action works best for Me at 73 and tired hands! Love to Hear More. Sincerely Harold from Pa.

Hello Harold

The RD2000 has a higher end keybed. Also costs 3 times the DGX 670.

That said, and not being a trained pianist, I’ve been impressed with the DGX keybed
