To follow up Audry's question...

I'd like to know the setup you all use, that is, do you utilize the sub out, and if you could give details on how you split parts to speakers.

I currently use 2 crate amps, from the R/L out, and I know there is a way of achieving better sound results. The manual hints of instructions and splitting sounds using sub, but doesn't recommend a setting.

I have this feeling, that I am missing something good with the outputs.

So if you could share your detailed sound set up, and can offer any advise, it would be appreciated.

Thanks

What is missing here is:
1-How are these being used?
2-How many people will be present?
3-Is this going to be used only in my home?

For home use or gatherings of 50 people or less, I really feel the Logitech Z2300 at cost of $99 (Internet) will perform extremely well.

Two satellite speakers – very light – 5 inches tall. One sub – 8 inches.
You can control the amount of power (Volume) coming from the sub and satellites separately.

Circuit City I asking $155 and I was fortunate to buy mine at $69.

Yes Bruno,

You are quite right - consideration on size of rooms do have to be taken into account which is why I changed my Clarifier to a larger system. The Clarifer was brilliant for homes and small halls but even using the appropriate Reverb setting, it wasn't so good in larger halls particularly when there was a lot of 'chat' going on.

The only reason I'm looking for something else is the weight of the Stagepas 300.
To some of you boys with bulging muscles it wouldn't present a problem but to a 'sagging little ole lady' like me, it is if I am on my own. Admittedly, my husband is with me for loading/unloading purposes most of the time then of course, problem solved.

Thanks again for all your replies. I'm now going to visit the sites suggested.

Audrey

Audrey,

My next thought, Logitech X5500. Handles without distortion 200 to 300 people.

But there is some work to be done in order to make it portable.
Five satellite speakers.
Ten inch sub.

If you do a search on the general arranger forum you will have all the information you need.

I have the sub on a small platform on wheels, similar to the wheels on luggage. No having to carry – from the car onto the dolly.
The five satellite have very little weight.

Check your mail for pictures.
