Hello.
You have every right to express yourself exactly how you want and that is completely respected.
But if you want my opinion I would say the following:
When you have it in front of you and explore it and play with it for hours you will have every reason to make absolutely safe conclusions.
And I say again, I totally respect your opinion..

I admire your courage and your patience (idem for AJ)...on this forum, true Ketron users dare less and less to post

So far it don't appear to be much of an EVENT.

Perhaps it would be better (and help others understand better too), what exactly makes it sound worse as you listen to more demos (e.g on this demo [], the strings sound bad, the drums do not sound real, on this demo [], the bass sounds artificial at xx:yy and if you listen closely at yy:zz, it sounds like someone's cat ran over the record player)...etc. Tangible points that your audience or other SZ members can allude to and possibly recognize and support your view are needed. Without that, we are left with sound which is subjective (to begin with) and you have no reference point to even start with.

The same applies to those who say it sounds excellent ...listen to the drummer at mm:tt, the snare drum is like no other heard on a keyboard in this video [], or that sax at uu:vv found here [] takes one to Heaven and back again.

Then we can truly have discussions on instruments, and not just folks elevating ... or tarnishing a brand because of its name.

Just some thoughts to throw out there ...

I dropped off SZ a while back because of this. Most Ketron posts become a Ketron bashing post by people who have never played one or intend to own one and just keep churning up the same boring and unfounded reasons not to buy one. I used to get the same thing working for Hammond - its odd that people feel the need to do it. I never really understood why it happens as I appreciate all of the arrangers on the market.

From what I have heard so far from Ketron SRL, the Event sounds like an amazing instrument. Sound is subjective as we create our own benchmark, but I find the audio quality is incredible, and I will wait patiently and enjoy each video as it lands.

So, the boilerplate answer to someone saying a Ketron sounds bad is to reply that it will sound better if YOU play it… (of course, you got to buy one first to do that! 💵💵💵)

Which kind of begs the question… can’t Ketron afford a GOOD player (hopefully one even better than the criticizer!) to demo it? Because if all the problems the listener brings up disappear when played by a good player, that’s not exactly good marketing to hire a bad player to demo it, is it?

BTW, on another thread over at the main forum, I did EXACTLY what AJ wanted, gave exact times of the issues in a demo, and haven’t heard word one about it. So, I wouldn’t waste your time, Mr G.

The truth is, this isn’t a hater of Ketron site. This is a hater of bad arrangers forum. No matter the brand. And if, unfortunately, Ketron seems to come under greater scrutiny than most, perhaps that’s a problem with the product, not the listener. Perhaps Sokratis and AJ didn’t notice the Audya in Mr G’s gear list, but it very much seems like here is a criticism from someone who could NEVER be accused of sheer prejudice.

That his criticism is met with the same dumb responses shows just how boilerplate they are.

I'm sorry you treat me like this.. In all the years I've been on this forum I've never called a comment (dumb) as much as I disagree.
I have never questioned anyone's judgment nor nor did I offend anyone..

on this discussion (and other topics on EVENT), one needs to be sound engineer, keyboard and guitar virtuoso, professional as most arranger players, marketing genius, unbannable... all in ONE person... you "are just a sound engineer".. .. so...

Tired of all this. Put up or shut up.

Solo the guitar part on a style, play the following chords:

Cmaj/Csus4/ Cdim/// D11/// G+7/ Gsus4 G7

I’m no longer interested in any more ‘wait until you have one in front of you’. YOU HAVE ONE IN FRONT OF YOU. Record the changes. Post it here.

I will be the first to apologize if your recording displays none of the problems I have detailed. Will you apologize if it does?
