Rather weird indeed. The message "The PSR Tutorial Forum software is not compatible with the latest server upgrade" is not weird by itself, things happen, but the note on the front page just says that the forum is no longer available and says nothing else, as if they aren't going to fix it.

At top of mainpage https://www.psrtutorial.com/ there is a message:

"Note: the FORUM is no longer available due to a software incompatibility with the newly installed server OS!"

Hopefully this is a temporary issue.

For those of you that's not aware of it,
here is Yamaha Musicians Forum:
https://yamahamusicians.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=92

Yamaha Arranger related forums index:

And here you can go stright to the Genos / Genos2 related part of the forum:

Here is the latest news from PSR Tutorial:

Quote from https://www.psrtutorial.com/

Note:
FORUM update:
Our forum software in not compatible with the most recent server upgrade; therefore, we are closing the forum. Thanks to each and every member who has contributed to this great resource over the last 21 years. We wish all of you well with your future endeavors. Our best regards, -- Roger Brenizer (PSR Tutorial Forum Administrator) and Joe Waters (PSR Tutorial Administrator).

Note also, that while this main web site (psrtutorial.com) is still operational, it will be retired some time later this year. I'm afraid this admin is getting too old and worn out to keep it alive. -- Joe

Too bad that a sever update should be the reason to close down a great forum and that the PSR Tut mainsite is planned to be closed down as well. frown

Edit Reason: Info edited to latest update at PSR mainsite 19 Aug 2024

Hi Charley,

I recognize you from the PSR forum. Yes, unfortunately that wonderful forum is now gone. I actually had emailed them suggesting that they put a better explanation on the gateway page and they have now done that. Both those admins are advancing in age so at some point they were not going to continue anyway. The time and effort they had put into that well run forum was amazing. I wish them only the best. Ideally a motivated person will start a new forum.

Rich

Surely someone could take over the helm and use another server if there is the demand.

Another server is being considered, but not an iron clad deal at this point. I have been a moderate there for 20 plus years and will dearly miss this wonderful forum.

The information says that we still have access to old stuff. But nothing about how this has to be done. I have NOT figured it out.
Miss the forum.

Yea that's kind of weird, no way to access the old forum.
The statement of a new server, no forum ability, sounds strange.
Maybe the Worldwide IT outage or a possible hack takeover has infected PSR Tutorial?
I too miss the forum. frown
