Hello folks,

Does anyone have of know of anyone with a copy of the second style conversion disk (the SC7000 plus) that came out for the KN7000 all those years ago? I've been doing my research and as far as I can tell it is a pretty elusive thing to come across.

I recently bought myself a second hand technics Kn7000 and been playing and delving into this very proficient & versatile keyboard. Have set it up with a windows xp laptop, with song manager and jukebox applications working. I'm aware that sadly EMC style works is no longer available and so researching alternative options for converting styles from other brands. I've downloaded some of the free conversions that are already out there and will also go down the sequencing route and creating my own, but it would be great to get hold of the older applications to get the original set up working.

I have the first conversion disk, but it won't do Yamaha styles and I have plenty of those lying around hence looking for the SC7000 plus.

Is anyone else out there still doing style conversions for their technics keyboard and if so what's your preferred method?

Thanks for that, there is some interesting stuff there. The style conversion file there is listed as SCD7000, do you know if it is the style convert disk 1 that came free with the keyboard or disk 2 (the SC7000 plus) that was sold separately? It's the latter I am looking for.

I'm going to order myself a floppy disc unit for my pc and then download and check, but wondered if you might know in the meantime.

I think that's the disc you're looking for. If needed, I have the original KN5000 diskette. I hope it is correct and I can find a floppy drive to transfer the data.

KN5000 FDD

The file is a .exe file, and you can extract the data to the floppydisk when press it without use any zip software.

Some have problems with .exe files, so I've extracted and zipped up the content and added here.

As we know, KN7000 has a SD card reader, so maybe this file is working that way?
I did not buy 7K, so maybe some other Technics users will know.

Leon, I think KN5000 convertdisk is not the same as for KN7000, and it may not be compatible at all.

You are right, the diskettes for KN 5000 and KN7000 are not the same.

The conversion process is simple. First, Konvert FDD is inserted and the desired keyboard (Korg, Roland Gem...) is loaded. After that, insert the floppy disk from the other keyboard and load the rhythm. The result is not ideal, but the Style works and can be further adjusted.

Yes, thank you Roger, I'd already come across your page and your generous offerings which I've downloaded. What's your chosen method of conversion and adaptation of other styles if you don't mine me asking? Are you doing it on a pc or using the KN700 conversion discs?

Very much appreciate your input, from all the KN7000 research I've done your name crops up quite a bit and as far as I can tell you're still out there gigging with one, is that right? Hat's of to you if you are. I think this keyboard holds all sorts of possibilities, despite being 20 plus years old. I managed to catch the tail end of the dedicated technics forum and resources site but sadly was too late to be able to register and access the wealth of resources on there so I'm having to dig around quite a bit instead and I'm very grateful for any input/ experience and files people have to share.

Got myself a floppy drive today and loaded up the files, which was easy with your zip file - thanks for that. Unfortunately though on initial inspection it does look like this the version 1 conversion software and not the second one. I'll do some more testing tomorrow to check but pretty sure that is the case.

Hi there - I do my conversions on PC using a piece of software no longer available by EMC Musicsoftware called Styleworks XT. Yes I have three KN7000 keyboards and am still gigging with them. I'm in two bands which you can see in action on facebook called Sultans of Swingers and Dreamcatcher UK Band - covering Dire Straits and Fleetwood Mac each.
