Russ, I am now officially on Hospiss. Don't count me out, though. At this stage, they're mainly trying to manage the pain, which is mainly in my lower back, legs and feet. The pain level ranges from 8 to 10, with higher spikes.
My lungs are worse, and I use the rescue inhaler 10 to 20 times a day. At night I sleep with a bipap machine, which is keeping me alive.

I have lost a lot of my strength and have to really work hard doing basic exercises. Much of this can be attributed to my lousy lungs.

I don't know how much more time I have, but I don't think it's much.

Gary, I'm sad to read it; wish you to have some improvement the soonest possible; you are a strong man, but strong people have bigger fights. I see the seriousness of the situation, but sometimes things seem hopeless, yet there are good moments to come regardless. I know you are not a religious person, I'm not much of it either, but I believe that life is a tricky thing, it runs fast; but if such a mystery as life on earth exists, I believe there are other funny thing exist as well, and this is more of a first lesson, and you did very well;

I think existence of music proves that people are more than just atoms and molecules, if music exists, I bet a lot of other things exist which we are still unaware of in this life, but will somehow learn later.

Sergey, how I wished I could have sailed to Russia and met with you in person. Unfortunately, old age and failing body parts made this impossible.

Thanks for just being there old friend,
Gary

It's a pleasure to hear from everyone here and read those wonderful comments. The Hospiss ladies upped the morphine dosage quite a bit, and while it reduced the pain, the constipation side effects kicked in, which produced more pain, but in a different area. Bad news with a a colostomy.

I will do my best to keep in touch with everyone as best I can,

Love you all,

Gary
