KN7000 delivered in my area today. After a call from my local dealer I rushed round to play it - absolutely superb Agreed a price to part exchange my KN6000 Then trouble The KN7000 is approximately 3.5 ins (9 cms) longer that the KN6000. Won't fit in my keyboard bag Tried other bags at the dealers - none would fit Dealer contacted bag suppliers - who have none - but expect to produce one in about a month. So if you gig with your keyboard - make sure you've got something to carry it in before you hand over your cash Ah well it's back to the KN6000 until I can track down a bag big enough

Go down to your local cheap sporting goods store and by a golf bag case. They are inexpensive when on sale and should fit your KN7000. I bought one for my KN6500 on sale for $39.95 and fits with room to spare. It also has wheels on it. Then all you need to do is get some foam and cut it out to fit the bag and your instrument. This makes for a cheap, sturdy, easy to handle case. The wheels really come in handy! Also, has pouches in it to carry other things.
Now why didn't I think of that. I have already got one of those and I only use it a about twice a year, next time will be for christmas in Florida, so now it becomes a part time keyboard trolley. Probably bubble wrap would do the shockproofing, I'll give it a try. Peter, you're a star it must be the name.

WOW..... I can't imagine that the kn6 fits in that thing..... I'll have to try when I get home ... For local gigs I use a pick-up (with a cap), so there's no problem, but in a couple of weeks I have to sing at a niece's wedding about 250 miles away .... if I take the kn6 in the car it takes up the rear seat (the case I have doesn't fit in the trunk) ... I need the rear seat for a passenger, so I was looking at the probability of transporting with NO case.... that might not be the situation now...... thanks much, Peter t.

To John and anyone else considering the use of the golf bag carrier with built in wheels for transporting your keyboard, I urge caution. Unless some form of rigid panel is installed in the base, two things happen 1. The weight of the keyboard when being wheeled will cause distortion at the bottom, the bag will rub on the ground and wear through rapidly. 2. When both wheeling and carrying, pressure can be applied to the keys themselves causing damage to the key bed (it happened to me). On the market now (in N.Z. anyway) there is a keyboard trolley case with extendable handle and built in wheels, fully padded and with external pockets for books and equipment under the brand name "Gator". A perfect fit for the KN6000 and PSR2000 and ideal for the job.
To John, someone has told me they have a bag that fits the 7k (with room to spare) and was almost padded like a flight case but I have no idea what the model number is. Try technote and see if they can tell you a make and model number?
A custom-made bag is great if you have several hundred dollars laying around. I'm just a poor slob, so I have to improvise. If you look around, you can find a bag with a good bottom to it, and besides, putting at least 2 inches of foam padding around the keyboard will be more than adequate protection. Try it! If you don't like it, you will only lose about $50.00. Then, you can use the bag and take up golf(A real expensive hobby!!)to go along with your expensive custom-made case.
Just a quick note. Remember now, I'm talking about the travel bag that goes over the golf clubs and golf bag, not the golf bag itself. Just thought I'd better clarify this for non-golfers.

Hi everyone. Many thanks for all the ingenious suggestions. I'm undecided now between a golf bag, shopping trolley, pushchair, pram, wheelie bin etc. I knew my cries of woe would not go unnoticed. Alec Thanks for your suggestion. - I rang Technote and Graham Tilney has, in order to get me 'on the road', kindly sold me one of their sample bags at cost. They are currently evaluating suitable bags. So the topic can be amended to read GOT ONE TOO - YIPPEEEEEEE
