At what price would you part with your 7000?

FRAN.... Probably there is no price at which I would sell my 7K.....

The pleasure I enjoy while playing is priceless.

Now the 6K.... could be bought. Make me an offer I could not refuse?

Fran, I dont't know how one could even suggest parting company with the KN7K.

My KN7000 is also like a friend don’t know what would happen if it required some sort of maintenance still got my 6000 just in case

Ah! my KN7 what price? To me it is priceless. I get so much from it still and as a precaution against mishaps, I bought another from a friend who changed to a
Tyros 2. It is in an immaculate near new condition and also a pleasure to play. However, despite the keys showing wear from constant use, I still prefer using my original keyboard for as others say, it is a real 'friend' and somehow feels more comfortable than the newer model. I have been offered £1100 for the newer one but I will have to be desperate to part with either of them. Words cannot describe the pleasure I get from the KN7 keyboard and only other owners will know exactly what I mean by saying that.

In 1984 I bought my first keyboard it was a Casio, but I was always looking for updates,
i.e. more styles, better styles, better sounds, and so on. So I bought many different keyboards, my friends made fun of me saying, a new keyboard has come out Fred, are you going to bye it.

Then I bought the Technics KN 2000, I thought it was great. I let the KN 3000,
KN 5000, and the KN6000 go by. I then
bought the KN 6500, but after a while I went
back to the KN 2000, the KN 6500 just stayed on the side, while I carried on playing
the KN 2000.

I said I would never sell the KN 2000, then in 2003 I exchanged the KN6500 for the KN7000, then once I started playing it, the KN2000 just stayed on the side.
Although I said I would never sell the
KN2000, I did this year in place of a lighter
keyboard the Yamaha PSR- S500.

Although arguable there may be better keyboards out there, the KN7000 satisfies my every need, and I can’t think of any reason to exchange it.

I was told by a dealer on one occasion the main reason why people changed their keyboard, was that they had got bored with hearing the same sounds. I still enjoy the sounds of my KN7000, and though I attend
keyboard reviews, I have yet to play a keyboard that I enjoy as much as the
KN 7000.

I feel it would be a very sad day, when me and my KN 7000 have to part!!!!!

I would never sell my KN7000 eventhough I've worn the finish off several buttons from the thousands of hours of playing. Technics are built to last and it has.

However, I get the urge to keep up to date with technology and just bought a Korg PA800. This is a wonderful KB. All I have done is double my pleasure, and create a backup.

KN7000? I would be absolutely lost without mine. As to Value? Priceless!
Like Audrey and some other owners, I grabbed a second one, 'just in case......'
I've had all the top of the range models since the KN800, but in my opinion, the KN7000 is the best. I often wonder what the KN8000 would have been like

To answer your initial question Fran, in UK, the KN7000 seems to be changing hands from around &800 to £1000 ($1600 to $2000) depending on condition, although I haven't seen many available over the past few months.

I would also be totally lost without my KN7000 and like a number of others it also has a number of buttons with the paint worn off. I find myself enjoying it more every day and the pleasure it gives me far exceeds any monetary value.
Here in Melbourne, Australia they are also pretty thin on the ground with prices around the equivalent of £1400 which is about what I paid for mine new. It is probably time I started thinking seriously about a second one, but the only one I know of here at the moment has a price tag of around £2300.
I appreciate Fred's posting regarding the two in Holland, but I think the cost and logistics associated with transport make it impractical for me to purchase one of these.

hi folks , I've been reading this thread with interest .
My advice to you all is this :- the Grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence !!!

once you cut thro all the hype on the other brands you will find that some makes have very unuser friendly operating systems !!

many of the other brands have a great lack of song specific styles !!available for purchase .
Whilst most makes have good onboard styles very few are song specific .

i know I've said all this before , but Technics/Technote spoilt the Technics users with a good range of usable styles covering a wide Genre !!

Think carefully , don't rush into a new keyboard .
Ask yourself "will it really do all i want it to do "

Will i have to change /drop large parts of my gigging reportoire if i purchase a new board ??

Do i have the time to change !!!
it can be a big task !!!

These are only my thoughts ... for what they are worth !!!

Whilst i have 2 other brands of expander / keyboards to use with my midi accordions .

If I'm totally honest I'm only really totally happy with one make and that is TECHNICS ......for most of the reasons I've mentioned .

I have never been able to wear out a Technics keyboard or organ. My old KN5000 is still going strong at a friend's home. So, I don't think it is essential for me to buy a back-up keyboard. But, I would be devastated if I lost my KN7000. I do find that I don't play the KN7000 as much as I played in younger years with the many Technics products I have owned. It is not because I like the KN7000 less. It's just that my lifestyle as I get older seems to keep me away from making music. My KN7000 looks like it has never been used. But, if I ever lost it I would pay most any premium price to find a replacement.

Interesting post! I, too, would be lost without my KN7000. When I had my KN6000, the finish on the buttons wore badly. I think the reason was because the keyboard wasn't covered. It didn't have a built in cover as the KN7000 has. Dust and oil from our fingers causes this problem. I strongly advise those that have not had this problem thus far to make sure your keyboard is dusted regularly and keep those fingers clean. This will keep this problem from happening for a long time. Arranging and editing as much as I do, I have had no problem with this happening on the KN7000. My KB looks brand new.

I sold my KN6000, KN7000, and KN2600 all at one time to a dealer because I felt the price as well as parts and service would just go over the cliff when Matsh pulled the plug on Panasonic in their reorganization.
Well a couple of interesting things happened. Matsh stock went from 14 up to about 20 but it then turned around and went back down to 14. Did they gain anything by stranding us? Apparantly not.
Do I miss my Tehcnics? NO, not at first.
I bought a tyros 2 and that was ok but after awhile I begin to miss my KN7000. So.....next I bought the new Roland E 80.
I still miss my KN7000.
I may just go back to playing my Technics KN800 that I did not sell as nobody wanted it until I run into a KN7000 that is affordable.

I would NOT part with my 7000 at any price. I satisfy my urge to try the latest, by getting a "second" keyboard, and I don't buy the top of the line for that. I bought a PSR3000 a few years ago, then bought an E50 recently. It's fun to have a new keyboard to mess with, new sounds, styles etc. The KN7000 just seems to be above the others so it's not going anywhere, hopefully it will not breakdown!
