Maybe something is already working on messing up our keyboards! Last night I was setting up a swing style for a recording when funny things started to happen. I switched from normal mode to expand, which I do when I set up panel memories for recording, and on the second setting, the tempo dropped from 156 to 130, on the next try I lost all backup volume and couldn't get it back. I searched all over for something that was switched to a zero setting and wouldn't show on the main screen, but all was in order. Instrument combinations were changing on me, too, so I finally removed the style and moved to a similar one. No more problems. Guess I'll ditch the bad style.

All rather frightening, I am now reading this wearing a surgical mask!!! Walter.

Hi Bud,

I think, you have load a older file with a sequence, perhaps a file from KN5000. If you after loading want to change the panel memories, it's difficult to make off the sequencer. If you change some panel memories and the sequencer play light is on, you will have the problem, that the tempo is not right on the panels.

Crysyl, actually it was an old Roland swing style that wasn't part of any recording. I strip some of these styles down to bare bones and rebuild them, and there wasn't anything attached that would trigger the sequencer to play. That's one of the first things I check, but maybe if I would have dug deeper I might have discovered the cause. However, that takes time, and the style wasn't that good, anyway. So, I tossed it aside and moved on to another. And, thanks for the advice. When there are many things that can go wrong, it's easy to overlook something right in front of you.

I read with interest what you guys have said on this subject and couldn't help thinking of the almost idential problems I had with my KN6000. It was a horror. Thank goodness I no longer have it.

I now have the KN6500 which is a superb instrument and is a great pleasure to play but having said that, I am still looking forward to seeing the KN7000 when it appears on the market.
