I've been trying to use a program called MDBC (Music Data Base Converter from Keysoft Service) to transfer my KN5000 song data to my KN7000 SD card. The transfer is not going well with corruptions happening. Is there a better way please?

Hi Alan
What do you mean by song data...do you mean set ups (registrations) on your keyboard for live play; do you mean material which you have sequenced on your KN5000; or do you mean midi files...?

Hi there - Is this the query you wrote to Fred Mellink about re problems using SD Explorer and which I quote
_____________________________________________
"I am having trouble with SD Explorer. I have a data file from my KN5000
saved from the hard drive using HD Mec from KeySoft Service. I'm using MDBC
from KeySoft Service (Music Data Base Converter) to transfer the K5 data to
the K7 SD disc. Unfortunately, SD Explorer keeps wanting to repair the SD by
deleting the files I just converted. Can you help with the data transfer
please?"

If this is the case then it may be that your original question on this thread did not make that clear and by clarifying this someone may be able to help you in some way......Joan

Hi Alan,

I'm intrigued to know why you want to CONVERT KN5000 styles for the KN7000. Are you aware that the KN7 is programmed to read KN5 styles? All I did was copy my KN5000 SD Card to my desktop then drag and dropped from there to a new SD Card which had been initialised in the KN7. No problem.

Try it, may be it'll work for you.

Audrey

Hi Audrey - I found the backup file created by the HD Mec software that I used to make the back up from my K5 hard drive. Is this what you mean?
I was able to drag a file to the SD card. But it is very confusing as the 1980 songs that are stored have no names only numbers like 11907.CMP. Did you have the hard drive option too? How did you manage without song names?
