the main use is backup of the hard drive if it ever failed so work could be replaced to another, worthwhile if you have a lot of files you've spent a lot of time creating. It is also very useful for housekeeping the drive, moving files around different folders, renaming to the 26 character names available, creating many custom load scripts etc, as well as copying direct from the pc and deleting from the pc, just a lot faster using a mouse rather than the keyboard screen. Once you have everything arranged the way you want you tend not to use it so often, except to back up new work; whether it's worth buying at this stage only you can decide
