Anyone hear about a new release from Technics soon? After the KN-7500?

Any details on specs, price, etc.?

Thanks!

Well, it's starting again, isn't it? I suppose it has been long enough now for a mid-model to show up, and we can rest assured that Technics is hard at work on their next top-of-the-line keyboard. But, will it be a KN7500 with a built in CD burner, or a whole new KN8000 that uses another high-tech storage device we will have to spend months to learn? Or, maybe better composer and sequencer editors that can manipulate even the on-board backgrounds after a recording? It's getting to the point where it's hard to imagine what can come next that will be better than what we already have. Someone, somewhere is spending a lot of time engineering something new to capture my fancy and pull the cash out of my tightly clenched fist in exchange for his new-age musical treat. I can hardly wait!!

OK.Let's go for it - again.

Supposing - By and large sounds/voices have got as good as they're going to get, so the next step for me is a voice activated command system. No more studying the manual or "how to do that" books. Just speak into the mike, tell it what you want to programme, and presto, it's done.

For styles, play an audio link from a CD/cassette/vinyl into the keyboard and it produces six (or more) variation...

I could go on (heaven forbid) but you get the idea?

And why not? Nothing is impossible.

Just my 5 pennuth. How's about Technics spending a bit more than the 0.0001% of the development budget that they usually seem to spend on the user manual, this time.

Walt Tenays publications are excellent, but I really resent having to spend extra dosh with a third party to obtain user information that should have been in the user manual in the 1st place.

A cool yule to one and all.

Hi Keith,
Technics are not alone when it comes to poor user manuals. My PSR one was even worse.
At least we have the option of buying an extended manual written by a third party.

best wishes

I think you are all headed down the wrong path.

Seeing how every thing is going, the KN8000 will be built into a cell phone with a fold out keyboard and the software will be downloaded as needed. (For a per minute fee.)

You'll be able to call your friends and play their phone right form your phone and they will think you are right there with the build in video.

You wouldn't need to play it because you'll have a headset that reads your thoughts and plays the song as you think about it.

It will be compatible with every instrument ever connected to electric and it will take songs played (even from the radio) and convert them to MIDI-9000.4.6.2.8.1

Now that's Dreaming! LOL

Just an Observation About Electronic Things,

If it's made outside the US it has 100+ buttons and a 10 page manual to explain them.

If it's made in the US it has 5 or less buttons and a 4500 page manual to explain them.
