Hi Uzi,
a cardreader is an external piece of hardware for your computer which you need to read/write to the SD-card. Like a floppydisk and the floppydriver. But then bigger and faster. You can connect it via the USB-port and usb-cable to your computer. In use of the KN you need software, what is on your KN-CD. With this software you can e.g. make backups of your SD-card. In general the access-time of KN-SD card is slower, than the accesstime of Computer to cardreader(SD-card).

I recommend you purchace Panasonic Jukebox.
It comes with an SD Reader/Writer and software that you can use to convert and transfer MP3'S to the KN7000 Audio section of your SD Card. Some in Europe recieved Jukebox with the KN7000. The U.S. and others must purchace Jukebox seperatly.

With the purchace of Panasonic Jukebox
(sometimes called sz-CB7 audio kit), you can use the supplied SD Reader/Writer, and the software you recieved with your KN7000 with Song Manager on your computer.

As Cee's has pointed out, you can mangage your SD Card faster on the computer, vs. the KN7000. Most important, you can backup all your SD Files to your computer.
