Happy birthday you magic finger boys. I played happy birthday three times today at two "gigs, so I conclude that February 27th is one of the day's great Keyboardest are born. I'll play it one more time here at home tonight, in some inspireing key, and that will be for just your birthday, ( dare I use the word) "techies." Best Wishes now and always.................ARJ

Considering some of the recent remarks re: techies here, I'm wondering if I should take this as a compliment or ?

Seriously though, to be successful in the music biz these days (especially if you're a one man band) requires wearing a variety of hats. The challenge is truly a 'balancing' act.

1) Musicianship
* keyboard chops
* developing a 'good' ear (ear training)
* artistic creativity/spontaneity
* music theory

2) Entertainment skills
* working the crowd
* humor
* professionlism
* flexibility

3) Technical (techie :eek
* keeping up with the vast array of ever changing music hardware/software available to us: arranger keyboard features, music production software, etc

..... hope you both had REALLY great days ..
. GOD bless you both for your contributions to your audiences and to all of us here on the forum ...... as I am of the opinion that BEBOP MAY be older than 32, I think the great thing is that this helps to illustrate how music knows no boundaries age, religion, color, whatever ...
Scott, of all the attributes you listed for a musician, I think the most important is 'humor' ... you can be the greatest of talent, but no matter what, you need to maintain a sense of humor... especially the ability to not take ourselves too seriously ...
keep the music energy flowing, boys and girls ......
