there is a song manager software supplied.
this transfers technics and midi files directly to the flash memory card.
there are other more useful functions too, that will become apparent in time.
so assuming you load from an explorer type window into song manager, I would think you could load your unzipped files just like any other program file/open dialog on the pc.
for backup without the techmanager I'm afraid the floppy route is the only option. There should be no problem once you have your archive on pc hard disk. I would not bother creating ttx long file names meanwhile if you do not have them already.
I kept all my floppies anyway (as a kind of 6th backup) and unfortunately found the only way for me was updating i.e. resaving in each new machine for best results.
(boring
job)
This was important from 5000 to 6000, from 6000 to 7000 may not be that important or even necessary, we shall see when a lot of files have been loaded.
If we carry on with flash and mass data transfer like this, the floppies can maybe finally be consigned to the bin.
I see no reason why you cannot arrange files in convenient packets on the pc and then copy different sets for different days over and over onto the same card. I have flash memory cards in camera and mp3 player and constantly download and overwrite, its very reliable, way ahead of floppies, and probably better than hard disk with no moving parts.
