I have twenty registrations with custom styles that I want to save in sequential order. My "Favorites" folder is used for other things. My "Panel Memory" slots will retain the instruments, tempo etc, but will not change to the correct rythm, eventhough I am in Etxended Save with everything on. I presume this is because a new custom rythm has to be loaded for each song. I have other sets stored in "Panel Memory', and it works fine, but they are internal styles.

What options to I have ? I have never used " Sd Song Medley". I made up a user list, and can't get it to changs "Songs", which are styles. Alec's book says to press "Skip". I do and it says "No File".

I hate to go back to a floppy. I have USB thumbdrives. Can It be saved there ?

I had one thought. I could use my old 8MB SD card. That way I would have 360 new "Favorites" to work with.

some more info needed are any of the styles in different ALL custom loads? In other words are all the custom styles in place under the custom button or do you need to load another custom section for some of the registration banks? Song medley is exactly that - for songs, no songs, no function.

Assuming the styles are in different all custom files, you just save the individual styles in single custom format on the sd card, then load the single customs back in the order you want them 1 to 20 in the custom section overwriting whatever else is there. This is described in 3.04, and there are blank custom(s) on the cd to make a neat job of any unused slots left over. Then all the styles you need are in place in a single load.

Assuming the registrations are one bank to a song you can now use page 3 of the load page to load the registration banks (A to 10) one at a time in the order you wish to play. This is described in 3.07. Now go through each panel memory saving each pointing to the custom slot 1 to 20 containing the correct pattern for that registration.

Now do a normal save but INCLUDING the all custom section on page 2 (3.02 and 3.03). Now when you load this file the setups will be in the order you wish just by pressing the panel memory bank button with the next multiple set of custom/panel memories automatically available in the correct order just by holding the SD button down.

Naturally if the panel memory banks already point to a specific custom slot you can save time by loading the appropriate single custom pattern to that slot, so those panel memories will not require alteration - this is assuming the banks all do not require custom position 1 !

I will have to explain in layman's terms.

I came by an SD card filled with many custom styles. I did an association, and put titles and panels to them. I resaved them to another SD. All of rhythms are in the "Memory" slot, next to "Custom",usually "A".

I tried to save to banks 1,2,3, 8 songs to a bank . The first one would save , but would stay on the same rhythm for the next song, although the panel was right in all other respects.

In rereading the instructions, I take it I should import all styles that come up in composer memory, to custom memory 1-20, in the order that the songs are to be played. This would allow panel memory to simply "point" to the appropriate slot without reloading every custom. This can be done provided I can get it from composer memory to custom memory, as 95 % of the songs do not engage custom at all.

Whether a song has to load, or not is secondary to having the correct rhythm. As I said, the favorites work fine, but there is only one set per card.

I appreciate your comments.

Hi Bernie, you threw me referring to custom styles which aren't in fact in the custom section but now in the composer.

Yes, you can copy from composer to custom to have 20 styles available in one go, or keep the composers and just load again after each set of 3 styles in the composer. If the styles are all in composer A it means loading after each style unless you proceed as described below.

I'm still not clear what the problem is but if you have programmed many panel memory banks expecting new rhythms, then the composer needs re-loading to get the new rhythm, otherwise you just have the same old rhythm in composer A - is this a correct interpretation of the problem? You can get 3 rhythms in composer A, B, C again using the single load method of section 3.07 (for composer BANK) before needing reloading, or use the custom section to get 20 rhythms in one go as in the previous post. It is then just a question of making sure the relevant panel memory is pointing to the correct slot either composer or custom with the required rhythm.

Yes, that is the problem. When I saved them(full extended save, except all custom). I had expected composer would be saved along with panel reg. When I originally saved them to SD with extended save, they load with no problem. Now , I load the file from SD, and press the "set" button to put it in Bank 1,slot 1 eg. The new composer A will not come up.

At our last Jam one of our members was storing songs in the Panel Memory Banks and had problems. The confusion was not understanding what the Composer, Panel Memory (1-8) and Panel Memory Banks will do.

Composer stores songs (styles) up to 3 using ABC.

Panel Memory (1-8) stores songs (styles)located in Composer ABC or the 7000 on board styles along with the associated sounds that are stored in the Panel Memory Banks ABC.

Custom will store 20 songs (60 if using Composer ABC)including the style, Panel Memory and associated sounds in the Panel Memory Banks.

This is my understanding and difficult to explain.

Hi Fran
I guess that is my problem. 1-8 will not load new composer styles. I guess they have to be in custom 1-20, or composer ABC. So I either have to try to get them in custom, one by one, or not use panel mem 1-8.

Everything seems to be fine in ABC (3.08). I can put my 20 there, and save to SD(I think).
