Hi all.

Well, drying up or not, this forum are the 2.nd most used here at

As most things in life and worldwide generally, there are up and
downs when waves rolling during the life cycle.

But "the winner" gen Arr Forum have all brands and happenings as
topic (too much Yammie and personal argues if anyone ask me), we
sure could list this forum on top looking at brand specific list.

The Arranger Keyboard Forums ranged by treads:

1 - General Arranger Keyboard Forum - 160370
2 - Technics Discussion - 29202
3 - The Bar - 8577
4 - Ketron Forum - 4735
5 - GEM Keyboard Forum - 1894
6 - Yamaha Arranger Keyboard Forum - 1442
7 - Roland Arranger Keyboard Forum - 1381
8 - Software Arrangers & Softsynths - 694

Hello all,
Just a little short message to say that

THIS FORUM IS DEFINITELY N O T DYING!!!

There are so many nice and helpful people around so the question about death of the Technics Discussion can and must be quickly forgotten.

Let us continue with this friendly spirit which has characterized this forum so far.

With a little (too early) Christmas greeting

Fredy, alias peeanoplayer

Hi Fred,
I always Think of this forum as a sleeping Bear, give it a little poke and it will wake up and engage with you, poke it too vigorously and it will wake up and bit you.

Like many members, when the KN 7000 was all the rage ,I was in contact with many of them on this forum, and learnt such a lot about the dynamics of the KN 7000, and I feel even now if I needed an answer to a question about the KN7000 some one would reply or point me in the direction, where it was answered in the past.

I am sure many of the past KN7000 owners click on the forum for old time sake. Who could forget Tecknicsplayer = Alec, yes I did buy his book “getting the most from your KN7000” even though he wrote a couple of books on Technics Keyboards, he would still answer any technical question in detail; and it would not surprise me, if he didn’t visit this forum now and again. I hope some other keyboard forum is benefiting from his unique talent.

But this friendly forum is not only about the KN7000. I remember when a Virus really screwed up my computer running windows 98, with my photos, music, and various information on it, I was going to withdraw altogether from going on the internet, but my wife bought me a laptop running windows xp, the person who repaired my windows 98 computer also put software protection on my lap top. To cut a long story short I was unable to transfer information from my windows 98 to my laptop windows xp and that helpful gentleman ‘Bill Norrie’ introduced me to the USB storage device.

Not being very savvy about computers, he told where to buy the cheapest one, [and that was the first time I ever bought anything over the internet] and when I could not get it to work, he told me where to go to find the drivers for it, and because I could not work out which driver I needed, he sent them to me over the internet, I have not looked back since, I have four of them now, two are eight GB (I don’t really know what I’m talking about, but my friends in Sheltered Housing, where I live, think I’m a genius, lol ).
Thank you once again Bill.

Then there was Joan who sent me a whole list of song titles which she has, and said let her know if she could be of any help.

Bebop said he had all my digital songs I had sent him, and he would send them to me if I needed them.

Like some other members, I find the KN7000 heave to carry around, and bought the Yamaha psr-s900 in June 2008, I played it continuously until three days ago, when I thought I would have a play on the KN7000. For me there was no comparison, I played the KN7000 for three hours, and only stopped when my wife asked me if I would like a cup of tea. I will play the KN7000 until one of us packs up.

This is not a put down for the Yamaha psr-s900 which is a good keyboard, and I feel myself lucky I have two good keyboards, and if I find a forum half as helpful as this one I would indeed feel lucky.

As you can see Fred, from the many replies you have received, a lot of members would be disappointed if the KN7000 forum, which I have always found to be a friendly forum, should cease to exist.

I hope you have a great festive season.

All the best,

Fred Wren
