Hi there guys!

I have recently purchased used KN5000 without
any documentation. I have found user manual - so I learned something about it. . .
I am satisfied with how it sounds - I have even downloaded a number of good styles from Gunnar Jonny's page - thank you very much.
I am not a pro, I just play for fun and occationally do small gigs (rarely).
I would like to add some new sounds to my Kn5000. I don't have mandolin, EP(Rhodes), guitars ect.
Does anyone have something like this - and wants to share it?
Any good sound will be appreciated.
Thank You!
Best regards from Croatia - Dalmatia

Hello Dalmatia,

I suggest you visit Bill Norrie's website where you can download for FREE all the styles for the Technics KN keyboards -including the KN5000. Be aware though, because of the difference in programme data, you will not be able to download the KN6000,6500,7000 and possibly some of the earlier models, but you should be able to use the KN2000 and KN3000 styles, as well as those for the KN5000. I hope you enjoy your new keyboard. I've had most of them, and for me, the sounds and rhythms of the KN5000 & KN6500 were, and still are, among the best ever produced.

Bills website is:

Have fun - Audrey

...Not suitable for a KN5000 Audrey - all the files on my website, are in KN7000 format and will not load directly on a KN5000............

Can those be somehow converted to play on KN5000?
Do you have any sound files I can use on my kn5000?

Hi Tinog and welcome to the Synthzone Technics forum

I'm afraid there is no way to convert KN7000 sequencer files to KN5000 sequence files. The only way to listen to the files on my website, is to access them on the WMA page, where they are in digital audio format and will play directly on your PC, using Windows Media Player.

There is a program called EMC-Styleworks which is able to convert just the Technics Styles from later instruments to earlier instrument format. However, their website : www.emc-software.de/ does not appear to be operating at present.

There is another website hosted by our Norwegian friend Gunnar Jonny and you can find it here : http://home.c2i.net/gjgotaas/ There is a lot of KN5000 stuff available on his website. Hope this helps........

Thanks for usefull link.
Still, I would like to obtain some sound patches, like Rhodes El.Piano, mandolin etc...
I even looked to buy some, but I'm confused about sound formats KN5000 uses.
does anyone have any usefull sound patches - not styles?

Happy Easter everyone!

Hi Bill,

Thanks for the information. I downloaded all the KNs listed and they all played immediately on my KN7000. I now understand why.

Hope you are keeping well.

It would be worth contacting Neil Blake at www.stylediskwarehouse.com ( neil.blake@virgin.net ) and also his other website www.kn7000.com/. He has an extensive list of software for most of the Technics range of keyboards - not just styles

The KN5000 don't load sound/samples as i.e waw, mp3 or other soundfiles, as it is edited/mixed
sounds/effects from the onboard library who are saved in soundbanks when new sounds are added
on i.e. any of the style/sound disks available.
Why not try make some new ones for personal taste by yourself? Look in the manual in the chapter
about soundedit to find some hints and tips.

Happy Playing & Editing
