I think i need oounselling, the Audya is now available in Sydney,. After all the hype over "there", should I dare to even contemplate seeking a demo.,God knows what the price might be in OZ, I think a SH KN7 might still be a better bet if I can find one.I will keep you up to date if I venture to the distributor, for a critique.

Ray,
There has been so much hype about keyboards and when we get caught up in it, me being one, we do loose our perspective. What do we really need to do a job if we are performing and if not, what do we really enjoy. Then of course what can I afford or care to spend.
After saying all of that it’s still fun looking.

John C.

Ray, Thanks again for the package.

When you compare the Audya with the KN7, the latter keyboard wins in all respects. I have had a live demo of the Audya, played it myself and cannot imagine why it is even more expensive than Yamaha's top keyboard the T3, which is winner in my opinion.

Kind regards, Fred

Yes, Compare it with

and remember that Tyros3 is cheaper than Audya

OK, I just listened to several styles from the T3. Sounds good but far from the "live band" sound of audya. The drums and guitars in the rock styles of T3 were quite week. The RH nylon guitar was very nice though. But I like to sing when i play so the styles are, for me, the heart of the machine and so far my vote goes to Audya.

Nothing personal, just an opinion. The Tyros 3 can be used as is or edited to fit any agenda. The amount of styles available for a Tyros3 and the support that is there for the asking is almost unlimited. Based on these two issues there is very little contest.

I do understand that there are other needs that the Audya will satisfy.

I've recently been to a holiday camp where the group who were backing the evening shows had a young lady playing the KN7000. She was telling me that she had the 'Audya' on trial for two weeks and her opinion is much the same as Freds.

The KN7000 is still the "King of the Keyboards" apparently.
