My pc monitor is on my desk, where it belongs. My hard disk set up is what I record with. I use a Roland VSR880 with a Mackie 1604VLZpro mixer - works like a charm, and allows meto route outboard effects and harmonizers through the mixer with REAL knobs and faders and all. For an old school guy that learned on reel to reel 4 tracks and 8 tracks - this is the best "comfort zone" that still allows digital clarity. The only way I'd use a pc recording envirnment is to "sweeten" a produced track that I make on the MTR, and that almost never happens.
I'm a fan of knobs and buttons, so that's why I chose the setup I use ..... whatever works for ya ! Good luck with your new setup Leon. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Where is my WHAT??????
Although I'm much younger than Uncle Dave , I am "old school", too. I don't want to use computers in my music. My workstation has got a sequencer and that's all I need. But HD-recording would be nice.

Old.... I turned 51 in June U.D. I appreciate (as always) your input. Stalker..nice layout, and I understand what you're saying. I've configured mine the way I have because I've often got 1 or 2 extra bodies in there depending on the current project, so it's nice to have that floor space for them to feel comfortable. The top unit is a T3 (like me...old but dependable). The bottom unit is my SP100 (like my wife...clean, sweet and no annoying noises coming out of her). They're both direct in but I use the Rickenbacker TR35B(amp) for gigs. I appreciate your comments people. Thanx again.
