Thanks so much for all your kind support. I picked Kerry up from the hospital earlier today after a week recovering from surgery. She is still very sore but pleased to be back home and I am very glad to have her home again.
Nigel, I also haven't heard/readed anything about your wife's disease. Nevertheless I'm happy to read that she is in a better shape now and back at home again. I hope she will get well soon - so I send you both all my best wishes for it.

Thanks so much for your concern. Kerry is still in pain but recovering. She had the 40 staples removed from the surgery site today and all seems to be healing though not nearly as fast as she would like. She is eating solid food now and moving about the house very slowly. The surgeon told her that after a couple more weeks she should be able to return to normal life. Although it was a major surgery we are thankful that it was something that could be fixed and life should be much improved from here on.
Both Kerry and I thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.
It's good to hear that your wife's state is getting better. A taoism spell means: "Don't be afraid of a slow progress, only do afraid of a still standing!"
In this meaning I still wish her a fast healing...
