HI ALL,
How about some more of you signing in to this thread, let us know your age, where you live, what you play and etc.
I for one find all your posts very interesting as it is great to learn about each other and even though we are the same in some ways we are very different in others, often dependent on where we live/and or grew up. Different customs I think
Let us hear from you. Every one has lots to share and this is a good place for it. Let's learn about each other and the difference in our respective customs

Looking through this thread PLEASE don't tell me that at a mere 80 come August I am the grand old man of the forum. There must be a more venerable person lurking there somewhere surely.. Come out, come out, wherever you are !

Another year has passed
And we're all a little older.
Last summer felt hotter
And winter seems much colder.

There was a time not long ago
When life was quite a blast.
Now I fully understand
about "Living in the Past"

We used to go to weddings,
Football games and lunches.
Now we go to funeral homes,
And after-funeral brunches.

We used to have hangovers,
From parties that were gay.
Now we suffer body aches
And while the night away.

We used to go out dining,
And couldn't get our fill.
Now we ask for doggie bags,
Come home and take a pill.

We used to often travel
To places near and far.
Now we get sore butts
From riding in the car.

We used to go to nightclubs
And drink a little booze.
Now we stay home at night
And watch the evening news.

That, my friend is how life is,
And now my tale is told.
So, enjoy each day and live it up...
Before you're too damned old!

One of the things I have noticed in the many years I have been here at the synthzone and also while I was moderator of the technics forum and getting that going, is:
1. a majority of members in the technics forum that are technics owners are in the uk and europe.
2. a majority of members in the general arranger forum that seem to be Yamaha owners are in the US.
Have you noticed this also.
Any ideas why this is?
Is it strictly marketing or are there some underlying reasons that I am not getting.
What say you??

I will soon turn 56.
IMHO you see more yammies in the US because they are easier to find.
You can start out with the lower priced PSR's at almost any Dept. store. (k-mart, sears, Best Buy) You can start out for a hundred bucks when you outgrow that machine you can spend a couple hundred more for an improvement. And you don't have to learn a whole new machine.
Most other brands the low end is 5 or 600 hundred dollars and then it upgrades to a couple thousand with not much in between.

Hiya Everyone Ive been lurking around for a few days and thought I better say Hello.
Im Anne aged 40 and the proud owner of a recently aquired Tyros. I live in Manchester England and have been playing keyboards on and off for the last 25 years or so. Never learned to read music properly though. I found this group quite by accident and this just looked like a good place to jump in
