Tomorrow morning my wife and I leave to go to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota. I meet with my doctor on Thursday morning and if everything is ok my prostate surgury will be done on Friday.
My surgury will be done laprascopicly by a robot. The doctor looks at a huge 50 inch or larger monitor while wearing 3d glasses and he manipulates the robot.
The normal hospital stay is 1 day compared to 6 to 7 for conventional surgury. If everything goes according to plan I'll be back home playing my Tyros by Sunday.
I'll check into the forum with a report when I get back.

Tom...
It's so very hard to find the right way to express how sincerely I wish you the very best possible outcome from your proceedure. The Mayo Clinic is a wonderful institution. Three of my immediate family members have been there for complicated proceedures and are all in excellent health.
You are important to us, and we can't wait to hear from you soon.

Tom, There must be a Country song in there somewhere--"A Robot Fixed My Prostate and Then My Wife Kicked My Butt!" or something similar. You are in our prayers, my friend. I know it will go well for you. DonM

Tom,
Good luck with your upcoming surgery. I'm confident that everything will go well for you. Keep us posted about your progress and I'll mix a fresh batch of Kickapoo Joy Juice and send it north for the celebration when you come home.

Tom, My prayers are with you ... Mine was done the 'old fashioned' way, but the laproscopic procedure should help you big time with recovery (oooh that catheter ) ... and make sure to do those Kegel exercises!!! ... Get back at us soon .... t.

I've had a few friends go thru this, The fear of the unknown, and having to rely on the expertise of others, is probably the worst part. Relax I'm blessed with predicting outcomes, and you've got it whipped....! The mayo is tops, they'll fix you right up. ps: everyone I know has done just fine.

Thank you everyone! I'm at Mayo, I've met my doctor and I set to go tomorrow at about noon. I'll be off the forum until I get back home. I'll give everyone a report then. Thanks!
