Well I'm hoping some of my efforts paid off.

Here are 2 demos of our female vocalist recorded on the D3200. Demo1 is an ABBA song "Winner takes it all", Demo2 is a Sarah Mcglaughlin song "Angel"

I've still got a lot of reading to do.

They are recorded very well shboom. The vocal performances are very smooth. Did you need to apply any compression/limiting to the vocals?

It seems like you are putting the D3200 to very good use. It looks like sitting around studying the manual really paid off.

Thank you Nigel, although I will be the first to admit, the reverb was over done somewhat, and in all likelyhood, the panning could use some tweaking.

I'm still getting my head around the parameter editting.
A mid-speed compression was applied to Tiffany's vocals.
Normally, I like to avoid reverb whenever I can, preferring to use a mono delay, matching, halfing or doubling, to the tempo.

I plan to re-visit with the raw data, and try a few more mixdowns. Wish me luck....and thanx for the feedback.

Tony..in answer to your question, no, that was all my doing in my studio.

  • Bass: Hamer 12 string
  • Additional strings: Hamer 12 (played with bow)
  • Percussion: R8 & T3
  • Additional cymbals: R8

Shboom,
I was checking in while listening to "Adia" on the radio, so when I saw that you had posted "Angel" ... I had to d/l it ! I'll give it a listen in a bit, but I fully expect to enjoy it !
