I'm down with a major case of pneumonia, which, I'm told will last at least two more weeks, but I wanted to tell you about an amaising event Saturday, here in Lexington. It was a performance of the Jiou-Tian Folk Drums and Arts Troupe, in honor of the Tiawanese-American Heritage Week, starting on Mother's Day. It was held on the University of Kentucky campus. The troupe will be on tour for approximately 6 months here in the US.

The show consisted of 6 acts, preceeded by an explanation of the theme of the performance. It was loud, funny and a real reflection of a culture we could all benefit knowing more about.

If you get a chance, catch it! It's fantastic!

Russ, get well soon. We need your presence here on SZ.

Good to know that you enjoyed the performance. I was fortunate having seen similar performances while still in Taiwan.

Get well soon, my friend.

Hey, what's with that suffering in silence. That's serious stuff, big guy. Get well soon. We need a "voice of reason" just in case one of us (inadvertantly) posts something controversial .

Chas, if you stopped your approach to things here, I'd think you were under the weather. Believe it or not, you and I are probably most alike in terms of our music tastes, experience and general approach to life. See, the thing is, you question things, and the good natured smart a**ness sometimes surfaces, but the direction is always spot-on, the opinion is well articulated, and there is never an intent to be disrespectful. To paraphrase my hero Popeye the Sailor man, "You am what you am".

And, that's GREAT!

Russ ... I have a feeling that, like me, you can handle major surgery better than you can handle an illness ...
be well my friend,

I don't know about these two, Chas. They'd rather go under the knife than take cough syrup.

I could justify surgery to myself, but not a cold ...

No slight intended at your pneumonia, Russ ... that's TOUGH !!!

OHHHHH RUSS, You got Pneumonia. BAD BAD BAD
You should be staying inside and taking care of it.
I have had it three times and each time you loose some lung capacity. I am now down to 74 % lung capacity and when I get a cold or similiar, it goes down a lot lower. I am just now recovering from a bacterial lung infection and 10 days of tetramiacin and now on two breathing devices. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF I think I almost got down to 0 % capacity during that 2 weeks period.
Take care of yourself dude.
Didn't you get a pneumonia shot?????
I used to catch Pneumonia when coming out of South America at 120 degrees to North America at 30 degrees below 0 with a nice 50 knot wind for a kicker. That did me in three times in 10 years.
I wish I was over there, I would sit in for you so you could sit out and recover.
Best to you and yours
