I have hooked up to Skype and at first
connected Headphone and Mic to mike and
audio outs of computer. No problem - both
my computer speakers and Headset work.
Switched to headset with USB connection
and now the Audio only works on Headset -
computer speakers not working. I assume
when I connected USB set it changed default
setting. Anyone know how I can activate the computer speakers again.
Being a computer idiot any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks: Bruce

Hi Bruce
You don’t say what Operating System you are using, but if it is Microsoft Windows go in to the Control Panel, (Start, Settings, Control Panel or if standard XP just click Start, Control Panel) and look for Sounds and Audio Devices, and you will find the settings you require in there.
Hope this helps.

Hi Bill:
Went to control and opened Sounds and Audio devices. Changed setting from Logitech Headset back to SoundMax - now
for some reason the Windows Media Player
will not function. I know the speakers are working again as I hear them play the
Microsoft music when computer turned on.
70 year old men (like me) should not be
allowed to use computers as the problems with them will lead to a Heart Attack.

Hi Bruce
Was any other software loaded in that came with your Headset, as it is possible that this software has now become your Default Media Player, rather then the Microsoft one.
If you wish to change it back, open Media Player, (With the shortcut rather then a music file) locate the tools menu, (It varies position depending on what version you have) select Options, File Types and click the Select All button followed by Apply and Windows Media Player will now be back as default.
Don’t know if the same in the USA but here in the UK, free computer courses are available for the those that have retired, so they tend to be a bit more computer Savvy then some countries, if they do the same in your part of the USA, enrol now as you will find you will love every minute of it. (As well as making new friends)
Hope the above helps, but if you still have problems my Skype name is abacusks1 so you could give me a ring and Ill see what I can do.
However as its now just gone Midnight over here in the UK, so I’m off to bed, but will be back online for a time in the morning. (UK morning that is)

Hi Bill:
Thank you. Did as you directed and Windows Media Player is working again - now if I could figure out how to allow my speakers to play as well as my Headset I would be in Midi Heaven.
I see your email address is not listed. Would like to send you an email if you could
send it to me.
Thanks again for your help: Bruce

Hi Bruce
Glad to know your up and running, regarding the other matter open Skype, select Tools, Options, Audio Devices, and you will then be able to set up Skype for your Headset, (Don’t forget to click Save when you have changed your settings) without affecting any other Media Player.
You will not be able to have the Speakers and the headset speakers on together , as it causes problems with the sound, (Bad echo problems) you can however leave the phone Bell to come out the speakers, so that you do not have to wear the Headset all the time, just when in a call. (You can have other programs sounds come out the speakers while on a call)
I have also emailed you my Email Address if you do wish to get in contact.
Hope this helps.

Bill

Hi Bill:
Tried different combinations in both the Audio In and Audio out (Skype options) with
no luck - speakers still not activated.
I did not receive your email with your
address - could you send again.
Thanks for your help: Bruce
