Hey, Nigel...just took a listen to Jeff play a tune called Cause We've Ended as Lovers...a tune we've all heard. The 21 year old female bass player, who looks 12, BLEW ME AWAY! Her name is Tal Wilkenfield (sp?). The fact that she's on tour with Beck at her age is impressive enough.

I'm really critical of bass players, and this kid is fabulous. She was a NAMMM demonstrator at 19 and has a really impressive resume.

She is really worth taking a listen to. Her solo work on this tune (U-tube) is tight!

I just checked out Tal playing bass with Jeff on Cos We've Ended As Lovers and she is everything you said. Fantastic musicianship.

We hear so much about the lack of new talent, and then a kid like this surfaces.

Makes me feel good to be a bass player (and a little jealous)!

And she has only been playing bass for 4 years being a guitarist originally.
