Hi Guys, just wanted to make myself known!

I have been looking to join for well over a year but the 'no new submissions' thing kept me away. In the end I saw a post saying people should email Nigel, I did..and here I am.

Briefly I am a sound engineer/keyboard tech. I worked for Hammond for a long time and run the Hammondzone email group which you may be aware of (or probably not). I also created and look after hammond-organ.com

As you can guess, I lean heavily toward hammond based music (Acid Jazz, Blues, Rock..anything Hammond really) Saying that I am pretty broad minded with music as long as it has a live feel to it.

What I like:
1) Live music, particualry Hammond bases
2) Vintage keys
3) Kylie

What I dislike:
1) Hammond sounds on arranger & personal keyboard!
2) Fast Leslie for more than a few seconds
3) When keyboard players use solo instruments out of range

Cheers,
TWD

As one of the few around here who still works a B-3 four jobs a month, WELCOME!

My likes and dislikes are similar to your across the board.

Great minds think alike! (LOL)!

Welcome,TWD!

Thanks for the welcome. Always great to talk to a Hammond guy! Is it your B3?

Yes. It "lives" at a local country club. I play there frequently and have B-3 night once a week. It's matched to a 145 and a 147RV.

Also have a C-3 and a little M (1949-no presets at all-belonged to a little old lady who thought it was worth someething -it's NOT!). Paid $200.00 for the M knowing it wasn't worth half that. Then, paid $200.00 to have it moved, only to find out that it needed a $500.00 generator part.

Also have an XB-2, XK, Motion Sound top box, Motion Sound 145 ....way too many old toys!

OH-well, the little old lady is happy.

We don't see many 'Cinderellas' over here in the UK due to post war import restrictions. By the time the restrictions were lifted in the early 60s Hammond had moved on...and missed the ball in some respects.

He is a great player. Did you know he has made 28 albums? (not including compilations) I can't imagine many people have so many under their belt. What a box set that would make.

I love the stuff he did with Van Morrison too.
