Hi all, I bought Dolly Parton's album 'Little Sparrow' over the weekend and was really (but pleasantly) surprised by her bluegrass version of Cole Porters 'I get a kick out of you'.
Whilst I quite like Dolly I have never really bought any of her stuff and this CD was something of an impulse buy. I am really glad I bought it though and adore what she did to this classic......anyone else heard it?
Also loved the title track 'Little Sparrow'. Haunting. Now I wish I could write songs like Dolly......she makes it seem so effortless. Best to y'all (Wow! Two songs an I'm coming over all country ) Tony W
Glad your enjoying Dolly unbelivable guitar work on that song, I also enjoy her "I'll Will Always Love You".....as for country music, take a listen to our own Don Mason's country songs on his website at: www.donmasonmusic.com
My favorites are Killin Time, Welcome to My World etc, etc, etc, ..... he makes that Psr2000 sing for sure!!!
Heee...Ha!!!!

I MUST make a new website on another server. Every time I get a couple visits in a row, it shuts down. Lycos has gone WAY downhill. Originally, by allowing the ad placement at the top of the page, there would be no pop-ups. Now pop-ups are extremely obtrusive at every visit. BTW, Killin' Time was done on Solton X1. Thanks for the nice comments, Donny. DonM

Hi Donny, How does she play like that especially with those amazing fingernails? I play the guitar (badly) and my nails have to be almost non existant or it really hurts.

I have been a fan of Don's music and style for some time. His 'Walking the dog' is excellent and never fails to raise my spirits.
It never ceases to amaze me how talented many of you pro's are here on Synthzone and moreso the generosity you show in offering your help and time to those of us who can only aspire to musicianship.
Ok we get the odd spat and now and then a full out battle but that is what happens when you put a bunch of creative and passionate people together.
Boy I must learn not to wander away from the topic in hand....Dolly Parton.....who's she?
Tony right back at ya my friend from across the pond. You have helped me so many times as my webmaster and I am humbly gratefull to you...you are a good person and I'm glad to know you even though we're 3000 miles apart. But the beers are on me if and when we meet!!

One of the thrills of my life was having Bonnie Owens, who has sung with Merle Haggard for years and is on all his records, "sit in" with me and sing harmony for three hours. I did every Merle Haggard song I know, and I know a LOT of them. The first one I did with her was "Silver Wings". Don
