Hi Paul,

great songs. The Tyros and your voice sound great.
I also enjoyed the songs on your webside.
Did you record them with the Psr-9000 or the Tyros?
Did you use Midi files or styles?

Again very fresh and enjoyable.

Jam on

Eric

Wow Paul-Your Route66 is a darn good one..it's almost like a carbon copy from Nathalie Cole's "unforgetable" CD. I had to listen to a few bars before I figured it out

I didn't find "tequila sunrise" though...

Paul,

Really enjoyed your pro sounding Tyros song renditions. Fresh sounding vocals & nice keyboard soloing.

You say you played, sang and recorded your songs all in 'one take'. Did you sing, play & record everthing live while performing in 'auto accomp' arranger keyboard mode, or did you play the keyboard and sing along to a 'pre-recorded' "Styles & Music" (?) midi song file?

Please share with us your recording procedure & techniques as well as which Yamaha arranger kb style(s) you used or midi song (.mid) files was used , especially on Route 66. I'm also curious how the 'stop chorus' sections on Route 66 were triggered, and how the full keyboard piano comping chord voicings was achieved, especially if the song was performed in (split/full KB) arranger keyboard (auto accomp) mode.

Looking forward to hearing more music from you.

Scott

Scott,

The way I mostly play on stage is with a midifile, because I also then have the lyrics with me. i can play by head but not recon all the lyrics.

route 66 is indeed a Styles & Music midi and it's the best. I've tried the style (acoustic Jazz, try intro 3), but it doesn't have the impact as the midifile.
I played full keyboard and switched between jazz guitar and piano ( so where you hear the high notes a ran out of keyboard). I'm thinking of getting an 88 keys masterkeyboard and attach this at the Tyros, because the piano is so wonderful.

For the other two songs I played a guitar part.

For Donny I use a Shure beta 58 A Microphone and my eq on the mic is:
eq low 160hz -7db eq mid 800hz -4 db eq high 14 khz +5db

I'll try recording a new song using a style as soon as possible and I will let you know

Greetings

Paul

Hi Paul, just wondering if you have those songs as midis. As always, you did an outstanding job with the songs. They sounded very clear and the vocal was great too. You now convice me to go purchase the Shure Beta 58 Mic instead of the Rode NT1A Mic, although I know I am the one that sounds ugly. Thanks!

Johnny

@Paul
Just to clarify how you recorded the MP3's which sound great, am I right in thinking that you used a pre-recorded commercial karaoke-mid with you adding piano and guitar solos at the same time as your vocals?
If that is correct, this was great work and I would like to be able to get some more of the mids. But where can I get them, please?
cheers
Eddie
