Three things are certain....
Death
Taxes
and the end of the gig.....
no matter WHAT kind of job it is.
You'll bounce back.

I lost my job as well some time ago. Think of it like this: you will gain time resource and lose money resource. Be productive in your time because when you get another job, you will lose this precious time resource.

DJ,

Good luck. Have a beer for me. I've been in your position, lost my job 13 years ago. It actually was the best thing that could have happened to me. It did not seem like it at the time and I felt like you do now but everything for me worked out for the best. Let's pray that it does for you too.

Tom

Keep your head up! Trust me you will find a better job!

Almost 9 years I had to jump from job to another in very short periods(Speaking of 6 months max). Maby because my young age.. And now finally I found a job I know gonna last few years(hopefully).

The job is out there.. (Bad joke)

But like I allways said:
Working is seriosly interrupting my hobbies!!

Thanks for all the support and kind words. It really makes it hard when you cared about your job and were appreciated for it…. But everything has to come to an end sooner or later… I’ll keep making music as long as possible, it’s given me something I enjoy doing… Once again, thank you all… And I’m only on my 2 beer..

P.S I have to say you all are a great bunch of folks... I've noticed when anything goes bad and someone needs a pick me up you folks respond so well. I remember the time TOny lost his Father and the support you gave him and on other such times...

DJ,

I've changed careers at least a dozen times in my life, never looked back at any of the changes. In 1974 I blew three disks in my back, was paralyzed from the waist down for five months, and made a decission to work for me and my family. Some of the things I've done probably didn't provide much of an income, but I never looked back. Life is too damned short to do anything other than look ahead and keep in trucking. The main advantage I've had over all these year of self employment is that no one was going to evey lay me off again. Sure, I've lost some music and writing jobs, but for every one I've lost, I've picked up two more that were better paying. Stick with it guy--you'll be just fine.

Sorry to hear about the layoff, I'm sure your will find a better
job then what you had.
Maybe you will become self-employed & that is not all bad,
I've been self-employed most of my life, the draw back is,
you have to pay your own insurance, you get no benefits, &
no retirement plan, so you have to make your own plan.
But it's great.
Good Luck & a Great Future to You.

I feel for you. Usually I've found that when one door closes it allows another one to open. We just have to find that door. if you look I'm sure it will be there for you. best of luck to you.

Hey BB,
Sorry to hear about the "shock", which it always is at the time. Remember, opportunites do not come to you, make it happen after you get back on your feet. I've also been in your position before and things worked out better....you just need to network asap.
Regards,
Zuki
